Yes or no? And, who would you sit if it is yes....Trevor or Shane? Personally, I don't care what promise is made, I think players respond to a meritocracy, and I would start Chase and sit Trevor. DD
Something's gotta happen. Therefore, I say yes. As if he hadn't already proved himself worthy, combined w/ the struggles of Ariza.
I agree, you play to win the game and not fulfill personal promises made in the offseason. Ariza is clearly hurting the team while he out there for significant minutes. Chase needs to start ASAP, he gives us a better chance at winning.
Is it time? It's past time. Rick is late. Start Shane, sit Trevor, start CB. However, very unlikely at it appears he was given the world and promised a predominant role in the offense to showcase his "talents". The earliest imo that you might see roster shakeup(roster and lineup wise) is after the td.
With his 3-14 night, Trevor Ariza now sits dead last in FG% among the 117 players who qualify (37.8%) At this point, I'd start Chase over Ariza and have Trevor coming off the bench. It's the logical thing to do. There is no reason for Battier and Ariza to be on the floor together which is why our bench has to pick up the slack for our starters a lot.
I would say sit shane. although trever is not the best scorer, but i would still consider him better than shane
I think the question is who should get more minutes, Trevor played 39:12 minutes tonight as opposed to Shane 23:43 and Chase 27:52. Trevor's minutes definitely needs to go down.
Here is my main problem. You guys see the chemistry crumbling out there.......if you are Brooks, or Scola or Landry....and you keep seeing Trevor out there stinking up the joint, at some point you start to wonder if there is any accountability on the team at all. And if not, then why should they make all those cuts etc, if Trevor is not doing it and he still gets big minutes. I am really mad at Adelman and Morey for not taking control of this situation. They are not stupid, they should be better managers....you want to know why the team is not as efficient? Start with accountability of your players.....if they suck...make em sit..... DD
Absolutely not. I like Chase, but he's capable of being just as inconsistent as Ariza at times and plays worse defense. It's too much too soon, and for now he's a very, very good reserve, and I will bet he will far superior to Ariza when he reaches his peak. But it's still too early, and people who think he should start are overrating him.
Chase should start for Ariza. Ariza has to be benched, contract and situation be damned! Budinger doesn't play that bad of D and will get better. Ariza misses a crucial shot badly at the end of each game. Its because the shots are forced and he keeps taking them. He mixes in turnovers here and there as well. The Lakers 3 was an isolated incident. This team defied expectations before Ariza, and we can do so without him. If he has any value, we should swap him now.
I think RA and DM are handling it perfectly. They can't sit Ariza or else he's not as valuable as trade bait -- and something tells me that's what Morey has in mind. He's not blind and he's not stupid, so something's up.
Not as valuable? How so? One could argue he is decreasing his value. You think going 3-12 everynight teams are dropping their jaws and picking up the phones calling DM? And no, I dont see Morey having a plan to trade Trevor. Not anytime soon or in the near future.
Yes they can...they can cut his minutes down to 30 at most...and he will probably perform better. Because as the worst shooter in the entire league...according to today's stats he is not exactly helping his trade value. Let him go back to the 20mpg 44% career shooter....or call the Cavs and see if they still want him, we will take back Big Z and his expiring deal. DD
i wish this is the line-up: PG-AB SG-Lowry* SF-Chase* PF-Scola C-Andersen If Hayes is injured this is the line-up..... *Lowry and Chase* can change {depends on Rick Adelman}
I used to think we shouldn't risk playing with Trevor's head by benching him.. Now I absolutely think that guy needs to have a fire lit under his butt. Give the producing rookie some well-deserved props. Give the under-producing wanna-be #1 a dose of reality.
While I don't oppose a starting line-up shake-up, I don't think it would be wise to start Lowry. Brooks and Lowry are both very high-energy point-guards and one of them has to be on the court at all times. Their energy isn't limitless.
