Look out football here we come HOUSTON TEXANS number 1!!!!!

Houston has the Texans, the greatest football team.
We take the ball from goal to goal like no one's ever seen
We're in the air, we're on the ground always in control,
And when you say the Texans, you're talking Super Bowl.

Cause we're the Houston Texans, Houston Texans
    Houston Texans, Number one
Yes, we're the Houston Texans, Houston Texans
    Houston Texans, Number One

We've got the offense, we've got the defense,
we give the other team no hope.
Cause we're the Houston Texans, Houston Texans
You know we're gonna hold the rope.

Yes, we're the Houston Texans, Houston Texans,
    Houston Texans, Number One
Yes, we're the Houston Texans, Houston Texans,
    Houston Texans, Number One

Cause we're the Houston Texans, Houston Texans
    Houston Texans, Number One

    Five, Six, Seven, Eight
We're the best in the Lone Star State!
    Houston Texans, Houston Texans,
    Houston Texans, Number One

That is how I remember it, gonna e-mail Mclain and tell him to get on this with the Texans brass. I heard he is trying to name the D the Raging Bulls.

I also like the Houston Horsemen of the Apocalypse

I voted no. It's a great song, but the Oilers are dead and gone. The Texans ought to (and will) make their own memories.

Agreed. Luv Ya Blue is gone, and Battle Red is here.

Now, here's to kicking some Titan ass twice this year!

They play it at Titans games. It belongs to them, apparently.

    Go Texans.

Miami has the same song but the Oilers made it what it is.

Screw Miami and Tenn, it's a Houston thing.

I like "Football time in Houston" but it's not the same as Houston Oilers Number 1

You've got to be freaking kidding me. Did they overdub the word "Houston"? Or "Oilers"?

"Tennessee Titans", with its five syllables and differing syllabic accents, just won't work. So, I've taken the liberty of putting something equally appropriate. Get 'er done, Bud:

Cause we're the Inbred Traitors, Inbred Traitors
    Inbred Traitors, Number one
Yes, we're the Inbred Traitors, Inbred Traitors
    Inbred Traitors, Number One

Nothing's the same as "Houston Oilers". They're gone. :(

Let's allow Houston to build something new. Perhaps this time they can maybe even eventually advance to or win a Superbowl.

As a long-standing fan of all things Houston, the following are teams that our Houston Texans must beat at all times, preseason, offseason celebrity softball tournament, whatever:
    --Inbred Traitors of Nashville
    --Pittsburgh Steelers
    --Dallas Cowboys
    --Buffalo Bills

Beat 'em down. Break the quarterback's legs (figuratively, not literally). Run up the score. Show no mercy.

The new fight song had its debut during the 3rd quarter of the opener... its composed by an NFL films music director... and its got the same kind of generic lyrics that the Oilers fight song had.

Its not bad... not great... but all it needs is time. In 30 years, it will create the same nostalgia as the Oilers song did.

    I totally concur.

The Oilers will always hold a special place in my heart, but when Bud left for Nashville they became part of our history, along with the song.

The Texans are developing their own identity and my hope is naturally without to much forced commercialism that a song will emerge that represents them and us well.

That "football time in Texas" is a little too Toby Keith for me. How 'bout we NOT add to the stereotype that we're all a bunch of truck drivin' rednecks?

Does anyone have an mp3 of the first "fight song" the team came up with back in 2002? Someone posted it on here back then. It was HORRIBLE. Great unintentional comedy. It sounded like a Wagner opera. :D

Anyway, I vote NO. That was the Oiler fight song, and they are dead now. I can't wait to hear the new fight song at the Miami game next month.

Personally I would dig a tune played to the rhythm bass of "The Trooper" by Iron Maiden. That would SO rock!!! :p

Furthermore, the Miami Dolphins already have this song. Let 'em have it shouldn't have two teams perpetuating the same miserable tune. :D

The Oilers are long gone. Great times indeed.

But this is the Start of Something
    It feels so right
    To be here with you
and now looking in your eyes

    oops wrong song
    RIP VAH Career

Let's start something new with the Texans. When that song is played, we know were going to kick the Colts, Titans, and Jaguars ass.

    And the Cowboys too.

I understand the Titans and Cowboys hate, but what's up with the Steelers and Bills? Are you just hanging on to losses that a different franchise suffered?

"Miami Dolphins", same number of syllables. Probably sounds fine if you're used to it.

    b) I was talking about those losers in Tennessee.

Aah, just old rivalries for this town. I know it was a different franchise, but among lifelong Houston football fans I'm guessing you won't find a lot folks who celebrate Steeler success.

But you're right in that a couple of those are just old Oiler rivals I want to see them beat.
