I think so, Othella Harrington left the Rockets a undeniable fan favorite. It was his hard work and dedication to improve that allowed him to find a place in the hearts of Rocket fans and management. Though the Rockets had to part ways with him to get Steve Francis, I think he may still be a Rocket at heart. So If the Grizz are willing to part with him send them Collier or Walt Williams or some draft picks whatever, just make it happen.

Before starting a new topic, a common rule of this BBS is to make sure that one like it does not already exists.

RonChan: Teach Othella to pass, and to cease being selfish, and I might do that deal. Besides, Thomas has more potential than Harrington anyway. harrington boarded 8 per game this year, Thomas boarded 7. not much of a difference, especially since Othella has several more years of experience.

Thomas is a better shooter, a better passer, more sharing, and has better footwork... let Harrington stay in Vancouver.

As much as I like Othella, he'd be redundant with KT on the roster. If we lose KT when his contract expires, AND if we haven't gotten a REAL starting PF by then (or if KT doesn't develop into one) AND do not have an adequate backup PF, THEN I'll be on the Draft Othella team.

Until that happens, Othella should not be a Rocket, much as it pains me to say that, cuz I really like the guy...

If that were the case, then we'd never have another post on this BBS again. [IMG]

Look Rocketman 2000, unless you have exclusive rights to writing about Othella Harrington I really don't care what you or anyone else previously posted. This is my opinion about a player that I would love to see in a Rocket uniform again, If you disagree... fine, but don't tell me what or how to post. I dealt with this prior to the draft when I expressed my opinion that the Rockets draft Johnson and trade Anderson, I bit my tongue then but, not anymore. This is a forum to express my opinions. If you don't like them or the way I go about it!TELL SOMEONE WHO CARES!

People, blame Bill Gates and his cronies who didn't give you a quick option when navigating message boards, don't blame each other. Who wants to browse all the previous topics before they post something?

Some of you regulars need to be a little more considerate when downtalking the new guys; maybe they just didn't know that the "new" thread is really an old one - if they post a subject that's at the end of the road or archived, then they probably just didn't notice it.

This is not a "Who's the King of the BBS" BBS, it's supposed to be here so that fans can give their opinion on a Rockets BB issue. I know that many of you will ignore this, but Please quit bashing the newcomers for not having a complete list of thread topics right before their eyes when they decide to venture out into the wild world of Rockets fan posting - they just might have something valuable to contribute...

Some of us don't post much, and just absorb that which is written. I'd hate to miss a really insightful comment from a newcomer just because a few a-holes scared the guy off.

He'll probably stay in "suckerland" (Vanc), but he doesn't suck. He basically exploded when he was given a starting spot (with a convenient lack of a real backup), and he most definitely does NOT suck. He can be very good under the right offensive system, tho he will never be a really good defensive player, but he still won't work under the current Rox system.

Still, he does NOT suck. He's not a Rocket anymore, but I still respect the guy...

RonChan: Quite frankly, you don't have a "right" to do anything. You post at the sufferance of the admins. While they might not kick you off the board unless you truly abuse your privelidge of creating new topics, many on this board would appreciate less redundancy.

    Consideration is not a vice.

How did I know that I'd be ignored? I'm psychic [IMG]

haven: I respect you for one reason: I usually end up agreeing with your posts. But, I'd remind you that the newcomers - RonChan included - have exactly as many rights as you do here.

Personally, I'd tend to agree - the "Draft Othella" post has been done before, and before that, etc, but how do you know that this guy doesn't have anything new to offer? You don't.

My advice: if someone posts a topic that you've hit a thousand times in the past (or a hundred, whatever), then ignore it.

Why bash the guy and possibly turn him off CCN forever? He might have something valuable to say later on. Just be quiet if he's a dumbass. It's not that hard to do. Let him post a thread and get a big fat 0 in replies.

BTW, I'd much rather read your own analyses on the next Rox season than have to defend strangers from Net Bullies... This is a huge waste of time.

treeman: I'm not urging any draconian measures against accidental redundant newbie posts... just trying to explain the rationale to avoid redundancy. I think it's very easy for a board to become insane, and I think a little consideration on all sides can make life a little easier.

Of course, that also means that vets shouldn't always trash newbies for making mistakes that they made as well when they began posting [IMG].

    Agree.

And if after the second or third time of explaining exactly how it's done, they still make redundant posts, then they're on their own. Trash, bash and %#@$% 'em until they're nothing but a bit or tar on the post. That's all fine and dandy, just give 'em a chance to speak before you kill them. If they're still dumbasses afterwards, then happy hunting [IMG]

    RonChan,

Sorry about the harsh posts... we just constantly try to keep this place from becoming the espn messageboard. I figure if you didn't see this theme on the first page(50 or so posts), then fugghitaboutit.

Othella-detractors... is he lost? Was he taught how to pass out of the double team but still refuses to? His go-to move (the little hook) is pretty unstoppable.

I've posted so much that what I say must be true.

    The latest on Maurice Taylor

It's nice to see some others go at it for a while. [IMG]

Othella is a better, slower, cheaper version of Taylor. Both are on bad teams which inflate their numbers to a degree. Although Harrington isn't the first option, so he only scores 13ppg, but he hits 50% of his shots. Othella also outrebounds Taylor in fewer minutes.

The bottom line is Taylor is a name, but Othella is the better player. If you don't want Othella, then you really shouldn't want Taylor. I think you can lock up Harrington for less than you could Taylor.
