No. I live pretty close to toyota center and I would be scared to walk there.

Only if it's New Years on a weekday. Other than that, nope. I suggest ride roller skates though.

i would say it obviously depends on where in downtown you're walking....Landry was just outside of downtown...much less traffic and lights in that area.

I used this website for a project recently to find crime rates in the downtown area. If you select the area, it shows the crimes that happened by month in a spreadsheet format. autotheft, theft, etc.
Quite a lot of crime.

 

I've walked Midtown, Downtown, 4th ward, Montrose and several other "seedy" areas in my life.

Other than the downtown bus station, you're typically fine. That area reeks of drugged out folks.

Typically if you keep to yourself, folks tend to move on regardless.

 

dont leave your car parked at that mcdonalds near the greyhound to get it towed. that's what happened to some young lady.

she got kidnapped and killed.
