To be a serious Super Bowl contender without a even remotely decent Kicker? This comes in wake of the Skins-Bucs game. Husted is flat out horrible. Last week he missed an extra point, and a field goal that was basically an extra point so badly I had to laugh. Ive never ever seen a miss that bad. This week, He missed one, which was blocked. But it was blocked because it was a horrible kick to begin with. The skins were forced to change their game plans in game because of their known inability to kick field goals. Kickoffs were being fielded on the 15 yard line in the Giants game. And he didnt exactly shine in the Cowboys game either. So is it possible in this era of strong teams along the board Rams Bucs Colts Titans Miami to name a few. Is it possible to have such a complete weakness and still be a superbowl contender who can win it? I dont think so. A kicker can cost you a game or two in the season. IMO, the Bucs have a horrendous offense, and they're Super Bowl contenders, I guess. ------------------ Cheerleaders are just dancers who've gone r****ded. visit www.swirve.com
I said it from the start, Bucs will win it. Bucs have great defense and the offense is starting to click more and more each game. This team is dangerous. ------------------ "You look a team that's been to the mountaintop like the Houston Rockets, I'm going to put pressure on myself to be the best possible player that I can be. With the pieces they already have in place and myself, we can do some amazing things next season." Maurice Taylor
The Chiefs were once Super Bowl contenders with Lin Elliot, but it was Elliot's missed kicks in the playoffs that kept them from advancing very far. ------------------ Houston Sports Board DFW Sports Board
Bucs will win the SuperBowl. I guarantee it. If they don't, well, let's just say that...I'M NOT PICKING THE TO PLAY MY SEASON IN MADDEN NFL 2002! ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Can anyone stop the freakin' Rams? Boy, two years ago I never would have thought that sentence would be uttered in the English language. ------------------ Sometimes I think I'd be better off dead. No, wait, not me...you.
Nope. TB and Washington can slug it out all they want in the playoffs for supremacy, but when the winner advances to the NFC title game, we all know what'll happen. Rams win. Again. ------------------ Looking for next year's Dan Langhi? Draftsource.net ClutchTown.com Go Packers and Rams!
Yeah, Lets all marvel at the dominance of the Rams over such solid teams as the 49ers, who played them tough for 3 quarters. a three point win over the .500 seahawks a win of a tough game over the 1-4 Falcons (who just got stomped by the eagles even worse than the Rams beat them) who was more than in that game for over 3 quarters. a win over a hapless chargers team. and barely escaped with a win over the under .500 broncs team who just got squished by a winless team. Marvel all you want at those acclomplishments. Or their whopping .390 schedule. Id brag about the Rams after they play even a decent team. And no the Broncs dont qualify as one. The Titans, and Bucs both showed that the Rams offense isnt unstoppable last year. And to think their opponents have a combined 7 wins so far this season. Compare that to the skins combined opponents have won 12 or 13 games. And yet have to face the Rams, Jags, Titans, and Ravens. At least I know one thing. After "beating" around with those teams, Ill take Washingtons battletested chances in the playoffs (minus one crappy kicker) over a .390 schedule.
The Rams aren't battle-tested? Somehow I remember them having some playoff experience last year and winning it all. And the Broncos would easily be 4-1 if not for Griese's injury, which held him out of one game and severely limited him yesterday. The Rams defense is finally coming around, and while the opponents they've played haven't been stellar, they've proven IMO that they are as good and probably better than last year. And no one could stop them then. I do understand where you are coming from with the schedule argument. However, I seem to remember that same old argument last year. It wasn't correct then, and I doubt it is now. Also, because the Rams do play an easier schedule (division) and because Washington and TB have both lost 2 games each, the Rams are def. out in front in the race for home field. And if the Rams have home field in the TWA Dome, which makes their speed even faster, good luck. TB and Washington are not out of it. But it'll take a lot to prove they can beat the Rams, and I haven't seen it yet. By the way, check out Joe Theisman's latest column on ESPN on the Rams. http://espn.go.com/nfl/columns/theismann_joe/796721.html ------------------ Looking for next year's Dan Langhi? I've been a semi-fan of the Rams since the days of Vince Ferragamo. There's a name for you semi-oldtimers. I still got the Sports Illustrated cover with him on it..... For some reason, I thought he was cool at the time. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
Well I just asked the all knowing football guru as to who would win in a Skins/Rams matchup... John Madden 2001 and 3 games of 5 skins win... But seriously. The Rams are pass happy on inadequate teams. Which one of those wins came against a strong secondary. 49ers...Ha Ha ha Broncs...Hardly Chargers...even bigger a ha ha ha Sehawks...they have 1/4 a decent secondary Falcons...Nope (Buchanan is waaay overated) I really think the way to beat the Rams is with a solid secondary and a quick LB to cover Faulk. Say all you want about Deion being picked on. That Detroit game was the exception. Not the rule. No one else has done it. And Detroit did it doing it the way to always beat Deion. Short outs, crossing patterns. Every other game its been all quite on his side. The rams flat out have too much recieving talent for most teams. But Champ is capable of locking up Bruce. (Check out his season so far. Unbelievable) Deion is more than enough for Holt (at least at this point in their careers) and Darell Green still runs a 4.2 40. I dont think Az-Hakim is going to run by him. Meaning Carrier can double over the top, laying hits, and Sam shade can double the TE or Faulk. To beat the Rams your going to need a great secondary, and the skins have it, and Watch shawn Barber when they play. The kid has great speed for a LB. Im glad the skins have their struggles early on. Better than having them later. What many others dont know is that the skins beat the mighty bucs D without 3 starters. Their pro bowl T, Tre Johnson. Their team captain at C. (and Davis still rushed for 150 on the Bucs, when has that ever happened???) And Michael Westbrook. I think that skins/rams matchup in November is going to be a better game than most think. Only if their 3 new offensive linemen, hold up, and Andre Reed can produce even a tad. Go Skins. ------------------ "I have amazing, powers of observation"...Pink
