I think it's very risky to have any sugery on one's ear or head.

I've had 4 on both ears before the age of 8. Just out of curiosity did your parents smoke cigarettes.

I am almost deaf in my right ear. I had a type of infection in my ear that eroded my ear drum. They actually made me a new one, yeh that's right made me a new eardrum. But it isn't working as good as the doctor planned it to.

Amen. The morning I woke up with the perforation/ear infection (that prompted my surgery) was the most pain I've ever been in. I literally couldn't move because I was in so much pain.

Yeah, I guess they would go in the same way in both instances. For me, they just did a skin graft to close a hole in my eardrum. I've gotten most of my hearing back. There's still a 5-10 decibel difference (depending on the frequency) between my ears. The worst part for me is that it's left me with ringing in my ear for the rest of my life.

I've had back pains before tho. and upper chest pains too.

i agree, even tho, i never cried form back pain but i did from ear pains, but then i got tha ear ache younger.

What's wrong with me. I'm too young for all this. I'm active. i play basketball everyday, played football and baseball for my high school.

    guess im just unlucky.

This was well known to all Yao Ming fans.......

He was sick as a 8-year-old (or 9-year-old). The doctors subscribed him some medicine; he got allergic to those medicine.....as a result, his left ear was robbed at least 60% of its hearing ability.

It sounds like he got aminoglycoside toxicity. Too bad during his days, drugs were not too well regulated in China; Alot of herbal products sold in china may contain these form of drugs which are highly ototoxic (ear) and nephrotoxic (kidneys.) Aminoglycosides were generally used in hospitals for severe pneumonia and other highly resistant infections....and therefore, he was sort of unlucky.
