do these playoffs suck? Aside from the fact that the Rockets are out. There's no one (player) in particular or a series matchup that enthralls me at all. Just thinking about a Spurs vs Pistons finals makes me sick.

What's missing the most is a Rivalry between 2 Superstars ala Magic vs. Bird
    Magic vs. Jordan
    Magic vs. Isiah
    Jordan vs. Isiah
    Jordan vs. Clyde
    Jordan vs. GP
    Jordan vs. Miller
    Jordan vs. Malone
Malone vs. Rodman (maybe not a "superstar" but had Charisma!
    Barkley vs. Malone

Common theme Jordan (made playoffs time best time ever whether you were a die-hard Jordan fan, wanted to see him fail or see him add to his legendary status or even just a casual basketball fan)

    Hakeem vs. Ewing
    Hakeem vs. Robinson
    Hakeem vs. Shaq

To a much lesser extent Iverson vs. Carter a few years back.
    Iverson vs. Kobe
    Duncan vs. KG

No wonder why the ratings are down.

Go watch some Suns game. U will be hooked in no time. Miami Suns final will bring huge ratings. Spurs Pistons is what brings the bad rating.

Its you, LOL. I was thinking a Spurs vs. Heat final would be cool. And a Phoneix vs. Spurs Confernce Final would be nice. I think the Conference finals on both sides are going 7. There's such a big gap between Phoneix, Spurs compared to Seattle, Dallas. And Vice versa on the other side, Miami, Detroit compared Washington, Indiana. I see Dallas, Washington, and Seattle getting sweeped. I think Indiana wins won, maybe two.

I'm actually pulling for a Spurs/Pistons finals. Aside from simply liking Detroit, anything that bothers David Stern, which this matchup would certainly do, is fine with me :)

This round could go quick, but the first round had a lot of tight series, and the conference finals should be dynamite.

    Is it you!

I think the only teams David Stern likes are:

    Lakers
    Mavs
    Cavs (because of Lebron)

And the Pacers-Pistons rivalry is good!
Steve Nash vs his old team good too

I like D-Wade a lot, I think he is a terrific player and I just love watching him play.

Otherwise, there is not a single team in the playoffs remaining that I enjoy watching.

These playoffs are great. You still haven't recovered from our game 7. The conference finals will be much better than the 2nd round and the NBA finals will be great.

Best playoffs I've seen since 97. Good, fast play, drama, excitement, rivalries and stars born.

IMO, the NBA is GARBAGE compared to what it was just 10 years ago. Too many teams, too many players w/o fundamentals, and too many annual rule changes/manipulation by the league. Even the ESPN/TNT/ABC coverage of the games SUCKS. Stern is the biggest w**** in sports. That smiley motherf**ker will do just about anything for an extra buck.

Weren't they saying that 10 years ago, too?

Don't you know it's never as good as it used to be... :)

It's been decent. The officiating hasn't been like it used to though. Ridiculous calls are becoming more frequent, and everyone has an opinion over it.

This opinion is the best among them.

What I really miss now is NBA on NBC! The opening statement before each game that was dramatized so well and made each game sound like it was the most important thing ever to the theme song to the colorful NBC logo on games and Miller-time highlights of great performances during games.

Not in Houston they weren't. 10 years ago, people in Houston were loving the NBA ;)

Lol- it's always like that. The music was better, the kids were nicer, the air was cleaner, the grass was greener, and the cars were meaner.

While I agree that NBA players don't have the fundamentals they used to have, the overall talent level is higher now.

Suns/Spurs should be interesting and the Pistons/Heat series in particular should be an epic matchup. Just wait till the conference finals, thats when the real playoffs start.

wow, i agree completely. i thought NBC did a really nice job with the NBA...like each game as an event. i don't get that same feeling in the way these games are presented now.
