I probably haven't used yahoo in 4 or 5 years as a primary way to browse the web. But a chance encounter has me scratching my head. If you haven't used yahoo recently, the experience is much different than google. Yahoo feels more intuitive than google's minimalist approach. I was surprised that on one page that I could do so much, like searching netflix right from the page. Whereas with google, if I wanted to search for something on wikipedia I had to type search term wiki. Yahoo it is always there. Bottom line, I think I'm switching.
Since Google added that feature that finishes typing for you, I've been hooked on it exclusively. I didn't think much of it when it came out a few months ago (there was even a thread about it here), but it's a MUST when you're surfing on your phone.
Yeah, I like google a lot. It's just a kind of different approach with yahoo. Yahoo is less typing and more content is brought to you in more intuitive ways. Google kinda does it with typing approach, but I think yahoo has the better model right now. Google really can't change it's format of minimalism so I suppose that is why it brought out the google docs, but yahoo is getting better in my opinion.
Or you could just go to Wikipedia's website... unless www.wikipedia.com is hard to remember (browsers will cache it for you). I don't understand why people use search engines to search for a website they already know.
Hey 'what' is yahoo still hiring? Can you get me on? How much do they pay you to shill for them on message boards? Can I work from home? How many message boards a day do I have to post at? Thanks!
im not sure what feature you're talking about. Both Google and Yahoo have the feature that has the auto suggest/predict. I switched to google once it came out with the results as you type the words. At first, I didn't think it was a big deal, but if you're searching for particular results, its nice to see instant results when you change the words of your search query.
That's why yahoo is better. Because with yahoo you don't have to go to the site less mouse movement, less clicking means more time doing other stuff. On a related note, is this a crusade for you? I'm just trying to figure out why you are so clearly agitated by something that doesn't affect you. But to answer your question, all people, and this might be a shocker to you, don't think like you do. Don't faint. But maybe you could submit your request higher up and who knows, I see a noble peace prize in your future.
Or you could just type "what your looking for wiki" into your google toolbar or your in the address bar and get the link instead of first typing in wikipedia.com, typing in your search, then clicking the correct result.
yahoo sucks, their CEO lady once took a jab at google for something ridiculous... yeah... yahoo sucks
Search results are better in Google, Google products and Android go hand in hand. I use Google Desktop, Google Media Server, I have Android App inventor, Gmail, Google Talk (eff BBM), Google Reader, etc. I'm talking about google in general, but for website, i don't think yahoo is that bad. I like Yahoo Sports, and some of their content but as a search engine and in terms on innovations. Google all the way
So you use google apps? Maybe that's what I'm missing about google. As a search engine and getting things done I think that I am starting to like yahoo more, but maybe that is because i haven't gotten into google apps. Suggestions?
There's a google desktop suite out there. Let me link you to their full list of products. Also, I LOVE Google Docs. http://www.google.com/options/
Obviously I'm biased. But I can say with complete and total honesty that not only has the Yahoo! NBA page been my go-to page since 1996, but I've always had yahoo.com as my home page. The ease of use and ability to do so many things at once with feeds and mail and local/national news and whatever else you want to add? And if I need a different search engine, I have that little box in the right hand corner. Content-wise? Jamie Mottram's doing some amazing stuff. Stay tuned.
LOL! haha, you don't have a GOOGLE appliance... And WHY is that? I don't know. I kid. But it's like someone asking Aaron Brooks in front of his new team's bench how much he misses Houston. You've got a conflict of interest in this thread, sir.
