Is it just me, or does it seem like some of the players today are becoming more edgy

I was reading the thread in the Rockets Trade Forum and people were talking about how nasty and moody Francis has seemed lately, between his reactions in basketball games and his comments about the Spurs, and it seems like players are starting to get more and more aggressive. Kenyon Martin has been suspended several times and recently got into it with a teammate. Kobe Bryant got suspended after fighting with Reggie Miller, got into it with Shaq a few years ago, and then with Samaki Walker this year. Shaq getting into with Brad Miller. Jalen Rose getting into it with Richard Hamilton and then Michael Jordan. Jason Kidd and Stephon Marbury's verbal wars. It just seems like things are getting closer and closer to crossing the line. What do you guys think?

I think the players are more moody since the NBA added mar1juana to the list of banned substances...

Personally, I long for the days when players threw roundhouse punches at other players trying to break up a fight on the court :D

    Also add to the fact
that sh*t was not as blown up

If Larry Bird and McHale got into it
I bet it did not leave the Gym
    Via internet, rumorsmills and news

The only thing that has changed IMO is exposure

That's true, even though Kobe giving Samaki a black eye is disturbing. I guess not anymore disturbing though then Jordan hitting Kerr.

If I was a TV I'd definitely say players are way too edgy. I mean killing a TV cause of a no call? I'd be afraid of Tim Hardaway.

    no way.

There has always been dirty players and there will always be dirty players.

    same with trash talking.

Only diff is there is more media to scrutinize the oddball events now.

The media is the reason players seem more edgy. Half the time something is said by a teamate to another teamate, the teamate is joking but all of a sudden because of the media the two are worst enemies. The media blows everything way out of proportion just so they can have one more article.

I think it's due to the league taking all physical play out of the game. Nowadays when players get fouled hard, they take it as a 'lack of respect' and go ballistic. The players seem to have no concept of good rough, physical play anymore. They probably couldn't have survived in the 70s and 80s.
