Does voting early help give momentum to a candidate? I can vote for the next three days (there will be a voting center on campus) or I can vote on election day. I think I convince my mom to vote for Obama (she was going to vote for Mccain) because she really really dislike Palin. Nice pick Mccain, I hope more independents ditch Mccain because of Palin.
The earlier you vote, the less chance you have of your vote not being counted.I suggest you don't wait to the 4th, but vote before the 4th, republicans you are now suppose to vote on the 5th.
Might as well vote early; there is no momentum, as early returns aren't announced. But, as long as you get it out of the way early, the shorter the lines will be for everyone else on the fourth. The shorter the lines, the more likely people are to stick around and vote. So, if you're pro-turnout/pro-Obama, might as well vote early. Lessens the burden on others on the big day.
If better for two types of people stupid people and inquired smart people. If you decided to put some investment into the canidates running in your local on up to national elections and u figure out through analysing yes real smart. Because no matter what has happen b4 election day u paid attention to issues instead of rhectric changing ur minds. But for those of the stupid I we call them straight ticket voter who dont know nothing but they just vote straight demecrate or republican it doest matter they dont really care.
I'll probably be voting early. Lines and traffic suck on the 4th and I want to be home watching the coverage anyway.
Key choices President Dem Gov Rep Congessman Dem State Rep Rep Waited about 25 min, so I am guessing this is shorter time than Nov 4.
The only consideration I take into it is if I'm prepared to vote. Have I had a chance to research what I'm voting on...i.e. All the races, bonds, constitutional amendments, etc. etc. I try to vote early just do I don't have deal with the hassle that is election day...especially this time around.
If you vote on the 4th, you can take the afternoon (or morning) off depending on whether or not you have the bandwidth to do so at work. My district is a lock with Nancy Pelosi running against Cindy Sheehan and some weak R candidate. But we are voting on Prop 8, which is getting a lot of attention out here.
If you're in Jefferson County, TX, Precincts 43 or 61, please vote early. I'm an election judge there, and I've been told to expect averages of 100 people in line, and more than that in the morning and afternoon.
Vote early, if you can. The lines are going to be crazy on the 4th, even in Texas. In my opinion, we'll have the largest turnout in many, many years. The last time we had a turnout of 60% or greater in a presidential election, nationwide, was in 1968, with 60.8%. Needless to say, Americans had an intense interest in politics during the 1960's (I remember!). Turnout for 1964? 61.9%. 1960? One of the most significant elections, IMO, in American history? 63.1%! Largest turnout since the '60's? The last presidential election, in 2004... 55.3%. I think we may crack 60% this year, if people don't decide the race is over and stay home. Why anyone wouldn't want to vote has always been a mystery to me. Short of illness and the like, I can think of no excuse worthy of being used. Exercising our right to vote is a what separates us from so much of the rest of the world. Don't let our nation down... VOTE! http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781453.html
I vote early to avoid lines. Here we have like 2 weeks of early voting so I go a few days after it starts.
