Well just because Shandon opt out, does'nt mean he wants to leave; just that he wants more money! I would feel, but Fegan knows his paycheck counts for how much he can get from his client. I do think Fegan will turn to the Rockets for a Sign and Trade and try to get Shadon the most possible to the team of his choice or whatever team that wants him. That might be a option. Orlando may be a choice since they may trade Mike Miller. ------------------ When I was Little I call in a local sports show and told them the Rockets should Trade Otis Thorpe for a Lottery Pick. They found me to be stupid.
i think this fegan guy is an idiot, all because what he's doing with hakeem. give me a break, 10 mil? i think shandon might have a little trouble finding a team that's willing to pay him however much dinero he wants. he hasn't shown much these past 2 seasons with the rocks. ------------------
If Anderson is losing his Bird Rights because of this, I would question it. Anybody know if Shandon relinquishes Bird Rights by opting out?
I don't think his rights are lost unless he signs w/ a separate team in a contract other than a sign & trade. ------------------ You're a fine woman, why don't you mock that draft up
Agents aren't dumb/of the devil/Etc. If you were in their position, would you not try to get your client the most money that you could get them? Is that not your job? Not to mention, that pretty much every agent works on 10% commission. ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
No, that is not the agents job. His job is tomake his client happy. Now if making maximum money is what Shandon wants, he is doing the right thing. But if he wants to play for an up and coming team that is near his age and looks to be a contender in a couple of years, then his best interests are not being looked after by his opting out of his contract. Being Cat's backup and an option in the three guard lineup is not a bad situation, which Shandon might realize if his agent weren't telling him to go for the gold so that he could line his own pockets. ------------------ Liberals favor using artificial means to alter the normal to a state which facilitates and justifies how irresponsible they want to be
Hydra, "going for the gold"? How about just going for the league average salary? If Shandon after 5 yrs in the league wants the league average salary from the Rockets right now, he must opt out. Shandon can receive a 100% raise from us with little impact on us shopping for other free agents. Why is that considered going for the gold? I really can't image Falk being serious about more than a Mobley contract with any team. imo, Shandon is testing the waters to see if he can find a place on a contender. I mean, that is what he has said in all the quotes that I have read. I think it was always his plan to opt out for his Early Bird raise. And since he misses top echelon playoff competition, he wants to see if a contender will give him that raise, while he is at it.
Athletes are people too, they like money. Therefore, money makes them happy. Of course Shandon wants maximum money, but neither he nor Feigan expects it. They want a good team that can win now to give him a good 5-6 mil. ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
Seriously? Shandon could probably be a starter for a lot of teams at the 2, and if I were him, I'd definitely opt out, if not for more money, to play my natural position. ------------------ www.swirve.com "Pre-born, you're fine, pre-school, you're f*****."-George Carlin
Shandon Anderson thinks he is the man. Rockets can get someone more exciting in the draft that can take his spot. I rather have someone on the team that can actually bring his offense every night. Shandons defense is also overrated. Its not as good as some ppl here make it seem. What shandon does the best in my mind for his position is rebound the ball and he is fast when running. He has the worst ball handling skills in the NBA. I hate when he dribbles the ball.
