Sorry I am still learning the history of the Rockets. I know Drexler got his only ring as a Rockets and retired as one. His jersey is retired in Houston. My question is, is his jersey retired by Portland as well? Is he remembered as a Rockets or Blazer? By the way, how about Barkley?

His jersey has been retired in Portland as well. He will very likely be remembered as both. Not sure what he'll go into the hall as - Blazer or Rocket - but he is unique in that he can be clearly identified with both teams - Rockets for the title, Blazers for all those years of great playing and the Finals appearance there.

    Coach or player?

I remember #22 being the difference against SLC everytime. I remember him neutralizing The Glove.

He played the best in the NW, but he learned how to WIN here (altho two Finals weren't 1/2 bad).

    Clyde the BlazeRocket!!!

imo, Drexler will be remembered by most as a Blazer, and Barkley as a Sun.

Mostly because that's where they stayed the longest, but also cuz that's when they were at their prime.

I'd say Drexler will be more so 50/50 Blazer-Rocket.

Barkley is more like 15% 76er.. 60% Sun.. 25% Rocket

Barkley was a Sixer much longer than he was a Sun.

Barkley will most likely be remembered as a sixer. He already said that he would go into the hall as one. He just went to the playoffs a bunch(and finals once) as a Sun.

As a new Rox fan (still a Knicks fan), I would say a Blazer.

    Barkley is a 76er.

    Pippen is a Bull.

More Rocket than 76er is ridiculous, the argument wouldn't even involve his time here, it would be Suns or 76ers.

Drexler will be regarded as a Rocket. Despite his years in Portland, the whole returning home and finally winning the big one with his old teammate really cemented him as such.

He will be remembered as a Blazer. You don't spend 7+ years somewhere and be remembered as something else. His situation is special because he returned home and won a ring (Fairy tale ****) but a blazer uniform will grace the hall.

I really do wonder since this thread was brought up now that if Drexler will retire his jersy in the HOF as a Blazer, or Rocket.

I think its pretty much a toss up. But if I had to pick one I would go with the Blazers.

Barkely as a Sixerand Drexler will go in as a Blazer only becuse during the Top 50 ceremony 6 years ago, Drexler was wearing his Blazer jacket and Barkley was wearing his Sixer jacket. And Charles did commit.

Drexlers best yrs were with Portland. I mean for yrs and yrs, he was the 2nd best 2 guard behind Jordan. He played for Houston for a few yrs to help us get a title , but anyone who saw Clyde as a Blazer would know that its hard today finding the next him, so its next to impossible to find the next Jordan. Drexler and Jordan are the reasons why coaches take the best athelete. Jordan and Clyde were great athelets who became polished great players. It was done by hard work and constantly getting better . I don't think there is many guys today who are as good as clyde was in his day as a blazer. He virtually carried that Balzer team into the finals and the made it to the conf finals a couple of times.
