Just curious if anybody else think the Rockets are looking for back ips to Stevie in case he decides to leave this offseason? ------------------
You mean, in case Moochie decides to leave? If that is the case, then I think the Rockets are doing a good thing. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
That little guy is a Moochie replica. Man, he sees the floor very well, he's got a nice selection of shots and he is quick. The Rox need to keep this guy around in case Moochie bolts. ------------------
Let's see, Colson & Webber are good friends..., you don't think the Rockets are adding leverage for the Webber sweepstakes do you? Nah, the Rockets wouldn't do that. Hehehehe. ------------------
What's the connection between Colson and Webber? ------------------ "It doesn't matter. If it's the Lakers or the Spurs, I'm going to kill them." -- Cuttino "Jack" Mobley on possible playoff opponents.
There is no doubt in my mind that Moochie will be gone after this year, and Colson was brought in as his replacement. The Rockets need every bit of money if they are going to sign Webber and re-sign Anderson. If we don't sign Webber, I think there are other teams out there who might covet a great guy like Moochie Norris. I think Moochie + KT or Moochie + Cato might bring us a serious power player. Bottom line- Moochie is the best back up point guard I think the Rockets have ever had, but we will have to lose him to get better. Colson looks to me like he is quick, can score, is likable, knows Webber (?!?!), and will fill in nicely. ------------------ Bob Rainey is my hero!
What about Sam Cassel? ------------------ "Any event, once it has occurred, can be made to appear inevitable by a competent historian." Lee Simonson
Rudy flat out said Colson was brought in to give the team extra guys to practice with. I wouldn't call that a replacement. ------------------ "There's a lot of things you can say about playing with Dream, but I get to say, `I played with the Dream.' That speaks for itself." --Walt Williams "****!" --Kenny Thomas
Sam was not a true point guard with the Rockets, or he would have started ahead of Kenny Smith (although Sam has turned himself into a fine point guard now, in my opinion). Sam was a Vinny Johnson type utility guard who could do alot for a young player. Moochie is a better pure point guard now though than Sam in his first two years. ------------------ Bob Rainey is my hero!
The Rockets need to be 13 million under the cap, and Hakeem will only give them 11, according to an article I read yesterday. Somebody will have to leave, and Moochie is an obvious choice because Colson, a very good CBA player (another great Rudy T and CD find?) can do the job. ------------------ Bob Rainey is my hero!
Carlos is out for sure. I dont see him back. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Moochie saves you 500K if you renounce him. Not worth it, especially since we have Early Bird for him. ....renouncing Shandon or Mo gives you ~2.5 mill Not sure if that figure includes Rogers and his 2.5 mill of space. Dropping Walt's 5 mill is of utmost importance. ------------------ "That's been a lifelong dream of mine." -Vince Carter, after laying it in on a breakaway, much to the Vancouver crowd's displeasure.
I sincerely doubt Webber leaves outright. . THERE WILL BE A SIGN AND TRADE IF HE LEAVES Rocket River ------------------
Maybe Moochie is going to be packaged with Kelvin "Look Ma, no hands" Cato for a starter. ------------------
If we can offer CWebb the max then how would it benifit CWebb to wait for a sign and trade? The only way there will be a sign and trade is if Webber does not want to play for Houston. ------------------
i'm surprised that no one has mentioned that colsen might just be a back up 2 in case shandon leaves... if we do get webber, and that's a big if. assuming we get webber and move mo to the starting 3 position, give mobes his well deserved starting 2 position, this senerio leaves shandon as sixth man and under paid. i think he would leave and rightly so. webber's D would replace shandon's D and a second year mo-tay will be a better than this years mo-tay. we would have nice capable cheap back up's for both francis and mobley in moochie and colsen and solidified our three spot with mo-tay and langhi (or draft pick) webber at the four with ( imho, KT would be a sufficient back up for webber with his nice moves and/or carlos) but i really would like to see carlos back up cato or at least get 50% of the PT. this senerio leaves walt/collier/bullard and of coarse olajuwan out of the picture. maybe we might have enough money to bring back Pig for shaq services ------------------ cynthia don't go!!! i miss you already
