How cold is it down there? We don't cancel class at my univeristy unless it is -20 or something. What a bunch of wimps.
I got an e-mail from the dean a day or so ago that said classes might be canceled, haven't heard anything since.
I REAAAALLLLYYYY hope UH is closed tomorrow! and then followed by the Mavs losing.. ohhhh I can already smell it! When will we find out?? btw.... if UH is closed.. does that mean the Rec Ctr is closed too??
It's not that its cold, its just that UH is mostly commuters from throughout Houston and its suburbs. If the roads freeze, there would be massive accidents...my little sisters district (Cy-Fair) got cancelled already and they dont even have to commute to school. I fully expect UH to be cancelled tomorrow.
Well if they cancel class when the road freezes, We would cancel like three month of classes most of the time. Learn to drive on icy and snowy roads like we do in mid west.
As UH employees, we got a warning email on Friday that there is a fair chance that the University would be closed on Tuesday if there is sleet / freezing rain Monday night overnight. If UH is closed, the whole thing is closed, including the rec center. They told us to check the news early morning before coming to work, but I leave before 7. Website doesn't update as often as I would like, but they said they are working on that from last year. This may be the first test of that. Bottom line, if it is raining and the temp is below 32, I am not going anywhere. I can always answer emails from home.
I was going to go to Austin tomorrow (and return to Houston later in the day), but might not be doing that with this bad weather. I'm not going to be traveling if the roads are dangerous. Anyone know how bad it is supposed to be between Houston and Austin?
Well, I know with the weather forecasts I probably won't be traveling tomorrow morning... but just curious for those of you in Austin.. just how bad it is supposed to get in Austin?
