Did you see tonight's game? Did not the Rockets look like a different team out there? They had 21 assists! Do you think it is a coincidence that Cat wasnot playing today? The Rockets moved the ball very well out there and were a joy to watch. Is there any doubt that Cat and KT obstruct the offense of the Rockets by refusing to move the ball and share with their teammates? I luv Cat, don't get me wrong, but I think it is about time that he starts thinking about involving his teammates and stop taking every shot he gets in his hand. I would like to take a vote on the matter of having Cat be a 6th man again. If you are for it, just write "Aye" at the top of your message, or "Nay" if you aren't. It's my opinion that the Rockets will be a much better team this upcoming week or so if Cat sits out the next 4 games or so. Just watch closely the Rockets' stat sheets and compare them to the earlier games of this season. Other than that, Yao will go as far as his coach and teammates help to get there! Holla Back Youngin'!

I think people are gonna see that the Rockets actually play better and win more without Cat in the lineup...it might not play out that way, but I just have that feeling

    Yes, it'a tremendous blessing.

The Rockets need to take advantage of Cuttino's injury to continue to play as a TEAM and work for high percentage shots, which they are doing well.

With Steve and Ming set as the 2 offensive go to guys, a low % ballhog with poor defensive abilities is expendable and actually a liability.

Hawkins with his tough defense is a much better fit for the team.

Thank god the days of "Iso for cuttino" appear to be over. Those will go down as the dark times in this franchise's history!

Kenny Thomas, much like Cuttino, is a black hole, and the Rockets need to move him as well.

Negatory. Often times when a player goes down, it allows the other teammates a chance to showcase themselves, as well as allowing the team to have an identity.

    this is true..
I've been thinkin about this all nite..I was soo impressed with how smoothly the offense was workin..
Does anyone remember when Mobely use to come off the bench at the first substitution...he was instant offense...best 6th man that year imo..
This might actually be a good idea, Hawk is bigger, has vastly better defensive skills...
At the start of the game, with Yao starting, we dont really *need* Cats offensive prowess...Steve and Yao can handle that just fine. But when Steve goes and sits down...we could really use Cat's scoring abilities on the floor..

I really, really, really hope that we can keep up the style of play i saw tonite. Then I can feel vindicated for my unabashed homerism ;)
I may have to take up a life of crime so I can afford those season tickets ! :D

Yeah, the Rockets players really showcased themselves well last year as they lost 14 staright when Steve went out.

I agree, the team looks better w/Cat as a 6th man or lesser roll in the offense (maybe even traded). But the minute someone gets carried away and says that Ming is the first, last, and only over Steve is the day Francis gets injured/hurt again and the Rockets see how tough it's to win w/o him AGAIN.

Future of Rockets = Wink AND Ming!!!!

What does that have to do with Mobley being out right now? I never said losing Francis last year was good.

Fact is we now have Yao to shoulder the offensive load. Ideally, you would like a primary perimeter and interior scorer. We have that in Francis and now Yao. Where does Mobley fit in offensively? IMO, he is best suited as 6th man, to provide a scoring boost.

An injury or misfortune to one of our best players or any player is not a blessing. You think it was a blessing Cato had to go to a funeral to give Yao more playing time this early in the season?

In the long run, yes. We will never know if that allowed Yao to gain confidence or not. One thing I will say, is that it didn't hurt. I do feel bad for Cato having a close one die.

When Cato comes back, we will be as set at C, as any team in the league. Only NO's duo of Elden Campbell and Magloire can come close to the 1-2 punch at C we have.

No, it's never a true blessing when something as negative as an injury or a death takes place. That's just bad karma. But, sometimes, there is good luck within bad luck or a silver lining in the cloud. I think that is what is occuring now. Think about it, the only way rookies can really improve is to play. And because of these inauspicious events, RT has no choice but to give them the opportunity they've prepared for = luck. It could easily be much worse.

I have a feeling that injury is just an excuse, Rudy want Cat to sit on the bench and observe. Hopefully he will learn.

Is Cat really the problem? He's averaging 3 less shots and his assists are climbing, already .5 more than last year. That makes the whole "Cat takes too many shots" argument tired and lame. He takes some dumb shots, but he doesn't make our team bad. What will it take for you guys to stop looking for all the negatives? It's like, if this team doesn't go through the season without losing one game, you guys assume that something is wrong and changes need to be made. You guys have some high expectations of this team, I wonder if the standards in your own lives are just as high

He sprained his ankle during training camp and missed a lot of time. People here have said that they noticed Cat limping in other games, hell, the Rockets themselves said he's it's the same sprain from training camp. I hope you don't truly believe what you just said because it was pretty stupid.

hmm, I didn't know he sprained his ankle. I said I have a feeling... Is that really stupid feeling? I don't know. He played through it. I believe, if the team absolutely needs him, he will still play through it. In the Chron article, Rudy also said Tito is playing great in practice. So it could be Rudy thinks its teams best interest to let Cat rest and heal it now. He will come back better. Nowhere did I mention I think he is the problem for the team, so please don't freelance, and mis-interpret it for me. Thanks.

I think mobley messes up the team at critical times down the stretch. And get these stats out of our faces. They dont mean Sh*t! Ex. He turned the ball over against phoenix near the end by throwing out of bounds and then he took 2 stupid shots a few feet away from the freethrow line. Oh, and, i never saw mobley limp.

He doesn't know the meaning of moving the ball around. You can't ignite an offense when he's in the game. Mobley can only ignite himself. He's good off the bench where he belongs. Hawk should start because he has the mentality that mobley's lacking.
