Is Burma Milking Financial Aid?

    Man it was just yesterday when they said the death toll was around 4,000. Now they say at least 15,000?! I think this military government is jacking up the death toll to get more money for them to do corrupt business or something. :(

    Well if you think about it the tsunami in 2004 was originally predicted have killed a few thousand and that number rose to over 300000 when it was all said and done.

    No, they are not "milking" it. Burma is serious trouble right now.

    I dont know if their milking financial aid, but that 15,000 caught my eye. Wasnt the death toll initially 350?

    they are not milking it. that area is known for horrible storms. i think the coastal area are relative low? and over populated. so when a storm comes in, it just sweeps away entire towns. you can't get away from it. most of the people can't afford just get out of the area. it really sucks. what needs to be done is prevention, not just money after the fact.

    I agree but I doubt it will happen. If we here in the US have trouble preparing for a big disaster I don't think we should expect a country like Myanamar to do much better.
