With all this talk on Span coming over from Europe, resigning Hayes, 2006-2007 draft picks, is Badiane going to be in Europe for another season or try out w/ us?

I doubt he will make the roster if we already have JHo, Swift, and Hayes.

Prediction: He will never join the Rockets, ever.

I loved his hustle and athleticism, but he is very raw. I doubt he ever plays for us, but.....

Dr. of Dunk could tell you better, he has seen him play in the summer leagues in person.

    Dunk, what say you?

Badiane sucks. He's a borderline Division I prospect for sure. He probably couldn't even get minutes at Baylor.

You know! He's "The BAD MAN!" The next Hakeem that we drafted in the second round a hundred years ago...

And a hundred years from now, he'll be a bit of ClutchFans trivia. Of course, the site will be run by one of Clutch's great-grandchildren!

    (that's a hell of a thought!)

Our annual Badiane thread pops up. This guy won't play for the rockets.

Don't know what happened to the youngster, he just disappeared. Something must be wrong.

basically he didn't disappear. in fact he even improved and played a bigger role on his team. it's just that his team was one of the worst of the league last season and didn't participate in any kind of european competitions.

his numbers are ok: 7.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 0.7 bpg, 0.5 spg in 23 mpg of pt.

and he improved his shooting, which was his biggest weakness after being pushed around by bigger guys. his ft shooting is up from well under 50 % to a solid 65 %. and he's never shot better from the field (54 %).

he's still only 22 years old and improved every year. but the steps are maybe too small to become an nba player one day.

for this year he has no shot making the team. we recently re-signed chuck hayes. juwan howard ist still on our roster. and we already have a similar prospect with way more talent in stro swift.

so just forget about badiane for at least one year. it'll be better for everyone since you won't be disappointed and he won't get bashed.

    I totally aggree with you.

It would be a huge mistake. My prediction is he'll be a member of the Rockets this october.

Thank you for the update GermanRoxFan. Badiane's future with the Rockets looks very dim at this point. He is fading into oblivion along with the likes of Tyrone Washington and Venson Hamilton.

I think Badiane will play in our summer league, but likely not in the preseason, since joining the Rockets will be a long-shot and he's already got a job in Europe.
