It's available for my complex, I would switch in a heartbeat if I wasn't on a long contract w/ Dish Network.... HD TV is simple to get. No extra hardware or equipment to buy, installation is free, and you have one "brain" box and that controlls your television, its your DVR, HD reciever, and also provides internet service to your computers... all for less then like $90.
i read this long review of u-verse because i was planning on getting it also. some of the main points that stuck out were: -the size of the data that comes in is lower than say with a dish or regular digital cable, which means that the quality of the hd video that you get with u-verse is worse than digital cable or satellite (the review i read said that the difference was noticable) -only one tv in the household can be watching an hd channel at any given time (wouldn't be a problem with me personally but could be with others) other than that the review said it was pleased with the interface and the menu system. the price of the cable and internet package is pretty good but i'm way into the hd channels and personally i wouldnt go for the u-verse.
