Not sure if this is the right forum but man i feel like i am going to be pulling for china more than the US in this olympics...

no US stars wanted to play and it almost makes me want to see the US lose again because we have this lack of passion for winning in olympic basketball.

but mainly i want to see yao come to the olympics and dominate like he can in the NBA. maybe yao will finally come to terms with being a leader on the team and not being afraid to demand the ball everytime. i think if yao was able to somehow lead the chinese to a medal then it would help his development greatly.

    how do you guys feel?

No. I am an American and I will not pull for a team in which I have no emotional ties to. I dont care if superstars dont want to play, I'm pulling for them regardless.

Well I'm a Chinese American so I do root for China, but never against the United States. The US is my country and I would never root against them unless we were flat out cheating with steroids or something like that.

Best case scenario for me would be US with the gold and China with the silver.

    Hey maybe he is Chinese.

I am true blue American and do not hope that China beats the U.S.

I will hope they have good luck and that Yao dominates...but just not enough to beat the U.S.

Well, since I am German, and we did not qualify , I will root for the underdog...China! :)

    lol...im not chinese.

im just sick of how the american basketball team has become a joke. seriously...what will it take for our players to have some sort of pride for playing in the olympics? no one cares and there is still this feeling that the medals will just be given to us because we are supposed to be the best.

i think it would be bad ass if yao was able to lead the chinese NT over the US NT. and in doing so yao was able to realize some of his potential greatness.

its not like i am going to be rooting against the US NT, but i think we are far too laid back and just assume we will win even after getting slaughtered recently. i'd love to see a US NT play with some heart, and maybe that will happen with all the young guys on the team. but right now i am pretty apathetic towards the US NT due to the lack of commitment our best players have shown.

I have divided loyalties... I was born in China but I've lived in America for roughly 2/3 of my life.

I guess I will pull for China harder because they really aren't that good.

Actually if people want Yao to relax more they should wish China do better than last time. If China fails to do so there won't be Del Harris next season. There will be Chinese taskmasters training the CNT making them work 6 hours a day. So go China!!!
