Watching the series between Milwaukee and Philadelphia, I've found the announcers and commentators are sure to not leave out one important article of information: That Allen Iverson is playing hurt.

Personally, I have to give credit to a guy who plays hurt the way he does. You can't question the guy's heart or passion to win. But enough already! I don't know WHY it pisses me off so much...I've just gotten tired of hearing "Look at Iverson, you can see he is definitely hurting." Well how the hell could we forget the guy was hurting with you telling us every 15 seconds?

It's the same reason I can't watch a Packers game: This Brett Favreitis really gets on my nerves.

Is anyone else sick of this? Or am I alone on this one?

the radio announcers were even worse.
as they called the play by play, they would throw in useless facts like:

"Iverson with the ball, of course allen iverson was the top draft pick......"

    YEAH IN 96!!

" Sam Cassell moves the ball up the floor, of course he was the point guard for FLorida State....."

YEAH UNTIL HE WAS DRAFTED IN 93, won 2 rings and has played with 4 NBA teams since then!!!

    my 2 cents

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

me, too. i call it the "nba-superstar-built-in-excuse-tactic". [IMG]

see, if an nba superstar (and it's only the superstars they do this for. you'll never here them say "rafer alston - and you know he's hurting - is playing fabulous") wins the game he's an instant hero. he's a warrior. he's a marketing tool.

however, if he loses, then he was "a gallant warrior who sucked it up for the team and almost pulled it out". he has the instant excuse built in.

really, that's how you know the opponent is formidable. you wouldn't hear a word of superstar injuries while they play the bulls or wizards.

oh well...just another part of the nba/nbc hype machine.

Mutombo goes to the line a lot. I didn't know that free throw shooting was such an important part of his game.

Everytime Iverson missed a shot and the announcer said he must be hurting, it just made me think, How stupid is Philadelphia for having him jack so many shots when he's obviously too hurt to hit them. Seriously, they'd have had a better chance if they didn't keep him wasting their posessions.

Well Juan who is suppose to jack em up if not AI? Mutombo? [IMG] Mutombo has the ugliest post up game besides Vlade.

And I am sick and tired of hearing about Brett Favres bs hurt excuses as well.
