man am I pissed, when we were up by 16, there was no need to put the 2nd unit. You keep the starters and you slam it down their throats, also tmac should've been benched early in the 3rd quarter, and it took RA way too long to sub in brooks seeing as he was the only one trying

    just a rant

what was the reason for keeping the 2nd unit in so long in the 2nd quarter when the lakers were catching up? Or the reason it took RA so long to sub in Brooks? Brooks should've started the 3rd quarter

On the one hand, you can't blame a coach if your "star" players are about as useful as 3 DVD rewinders.

On the other hand, even a monkey could design plays for the three that would not involve Artest jacking shots like a maniac and McGrady shooting under 10%.

Brooks would have gotten killed by Derek Fisher. Granted, I do agree that Brooks' scoring is much more needed than whatever Rafer can give us but you have to go with what you have.

As for that dwindling lead, it was dwindling while Kobe was on the bench. They came back because our team is undersized. We had Landry guarding Odom, Hayes guarding Bynum. Then Hayes got his 3rd foul and Scola had to come in...still undersized.

You say he shouldn't have brought in the 2nd unit, but then you also say they he should have benched T-Mac and brought in Brooks sooner.

    Huh?

T-Mac should be inactive until he is healthy...we actually win when he's not on the floor.

This is nothing. JVG got waaaaaay more hate than he deserved on this board. I never understood why. I liked him as a coach. It was efficient.

Tmac is not a starter IMO. he had ron artest on the bench with yao. Yes yao had 2 fouls, but you dont sit him until he gets that 3rd IMO

I just hope the Rockets look at how the Lakers go for the throat. Up 23 with 4 mins left and they are still going strong, trying to increase the lead.

I'm getting tired of coming from behind just about every game.

Offense still doesnt look much different from the JVG offense. Now no offense and mediocre D. bring back JVG

I'm not pissed. The reason we build the lead is because the the lakers dug themselves a hole. We've got nth to do wif it.

The biggest problem is still our defense and defensive rebounding. I am surprising calm during this game for losing the lead because seeing the way we played, I know we will lose this game after the first quarter.

I do think that Adelman is definitely part of the problem. I was just having a debate wif my friend about whether Shane's defense is so much underrated and his absense becomes our reason for suking defensively. But right now our team is definitely going nowhere. I would give Adelman one month with Shane to try to turn it around, if it still doesn't work out, I would fire him. He was brought it for the offense, and our offense has always been the same in the 1.1 yrs he's coached so far. It's definitely no better than the gundy era. But I don't think he's successfully getting to the players preaching defense anymore this year.

I think the window for this team is closing rapidly. We cannot afford a blow-up in confidence wif the players. A change of voice is prolly the best solution. Any in a perfectly calm demeanor, I would want JVG ball bak. Yes, it is a rational thought.

yup my point exactly, i doubt JVG would come back lol. Its just sad seeing the team with so much potential just not doing anything. Tmac needs to be rested for a long time to get rested.

Too much pessimism and negativity on this board. The lakers are well rested ,they haven't played all week, this is our 3 game in 4 nights,we just ran out of gas,we played well the first 24 minutes defensively and offensively,we got tired plain and simple.

A 15+ point lead is different with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter than a 15+ point lead in the 2nd quarter.
