Is Aaron Brooks good or bad? Does he actually contribute to winning??

I didn't catch the second half of the game today :(

but when I went to "play-by-play" section on ESPN.com I saw AB rained in (OMFG) 3 clutch three pointers, (one which was 32 ft!!!), and instantly it reminded me of tmacs 13 in 33secs...

added with 9-12 shooting...man I thought we were ready to see Brooks explode in this series...I love it...still thinking about his game1 performance...

however...Yao only getting 6 shots the ENTIRE GAME???!!! Does Aaron Brooks refuse to pass to him or something or is Brooks too dumb to know that the best play every play every game is to pass the ball into Yao????????? What happend to getting Yao HIS touches??? Yao needs to shoot the ball the most and be involved in every single f@$@$ play!!!

When Yao dominates, the Rockets dominate...

However should we be excited about AB's offensive explosion these couple of games (which I'm loving...its been a while for me to start to like AB)...or hes actually the reason Yao isn't getting any touches cos he r****ded and doesnt pass to Yao???

Did AB even attempt to get the ball to Yao? (seriously question..I didn't watch all of the game)

uh, would we have won game 1 without him? what was our record with him as a starter?

i think we all know brooks is NOT a passing PG. and i've learned to accept that. he's a SCORING guard. and he's done a good job of scoring.

that's why having a playmaker is so key in the starting lineup. that used to be tracy. but now we have ron, who can't do anything worth a lick when he tries to dribble.

i think once we trade tracy or do something to get a playmaking wing, brooks will fit in great.

i think overall ab contributes positively to the team. it should be obvious.

his main problem is his tunnel vision and inability to finish or draw fouls under the rim due to his build. that's why he's better suited as a backup.

but adelman and many ccfans apparently disagree. we shall see.

Brooks played extremely well and under control for most of the game. I thought he was running the team very well. The problem was he made some mistakes in the 4th quarter offensive and defensive like when he let blake blow by him on the baseline and the t.o's. His mistakes were really magnified and made him out to have a bad game because of the timing of the mistakes. overall he played a good game but made some mistakes that all second yr pg's do.

The real concern is with artest taking bad shots...

I think he's at his best when he's attacking and looking to score. Its another story when he's actually trying to run the team.

Usually its just dribble around for 15-20 sec and make a poor decision.

    AB's stats the first 2 games: 25ppg, 6 dimes, 66% fg, 69% 3s.

i've criticized AB in the past. but if you learn to accept his deficiencies, then you know he's played out of his head in the playoffs. if AB plays like this when he's on the court, we're going to be more than fine.

it's time for our stars to start putting in work.

during the tmac and yao era, when have we EVER seen another guy putting up stats like this even for a TWO-GAME stretch? we all BEGGED and PRAYED for another guy to put up 25 points, let alone shoot lights out. if rafer alston done this in the other playoff series, we'd prollie went to the WCF many times already.

    brooks has a bright future.

No one was able to consistently pass to Yao tonight so its not entirely his fault for Yao's lack of touches. However he does need to shoot more when he is on his game. He should focus on attacking the defense from the beginning and continue to do so consistently throughout the game as Blake can not stay with him.

why don't you wait and download the game and watch all of it then you can answer your own questions.

Is AB the only player that can pass the ball to Yao?

Do you still throw it into Yao when you know you either have bad angle, or Yao being fronted, or Yao being doubleteamed?

exactly. yao has got to find a way to score in other ways if he's fronted. great players just find ways. get a midrange jumper. go to the boards. do something.

until then, a lot of complaints about how we can't get yao the ball will happen. it's been happening for years anyways.
