See the thing is like I know they can't read my mind... That's why I said "irrational fear" but for some reason the thought always comes to my mind when I think about boning my friends girl

If she hot then everybody already knows you want to stick her. So no worries there.

Just tell them straight up that you DON'T want to bone her.

It's not the truth but it will put everyone at ease.

yes, have a reverse intervention, where you sit down all your friends and your friend's gf. And tell them once and for all that you DON"T want to bone her.

"so I'm sure you are all wondering why I brought you here. Well I just want to clear the air. I do not want to have sex with your girlfriend. In fact I have never even thought about it, and I certainly have not thought of her while masturbating. Just thought you needed to know."

    Sound good?

You aren't the creator of your thoughts. Once you accept that, it's as easy as sailing.

So true. Your boner is the creator of your thoughts.

Okay, that's what I was wondering. I'm not trying to scare you, but this is worth taking seriously, and you might want to see some sort of health professional about it. Often the onset of certain psych issues occurs in men from ages 20-24.

Since I've taught literally thousands of college students, I've seen the onset first hand, over the course of a single semester.

Maybe it's nothing at all, but if it is something, even mild schizophrenia, it's very treatable and you'll be WAY out ahead of it before it becomes something scary.

By the way, new studies suggest that schizophrenia (I know, terrible reputation) is actually just a problem with how the brain orders things in time. That's why some people who have it badly report hearing voices. It's literally their own thoughts that the brain interprets in the wrong order, leading them to believe someone else is saying the words.

Again, totally treatable from what I understand. It's probably nothing, but I do think you should check it out. Wishing you all the best!

Schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder are not the same thing although they can be comorbid.

Look, I've been in your situation before. Weed is nice, it relaxes you, it makes you feel good. The problem is, repetitive use can lead to paranoia and moderate psychosis. THC is psychoactive. You are altering brain chemistry on a daily basis which can lead to some unwanted side effects if not addressed.

You may have other issues, but I suggest you seek professional counselling and learn to manage your thoughts.

I actually wish people could read my mind, then I wouldn't have to tell them what I think.

It's not the mind readers, it's the hypnotists you've gotta watch-out for! I actually had a friend who lost it for a while. Long story, but the short version is he had started doing stand-up - this was the early 90s - and swore after some time he had been hypnotized by one of the hacks that had performed at the Laff Stop and it was this huge conspiracy in his mind for some time.

I used to have this paranoia when I was a teenager. I did not smoke any weed and I never developed any schizophrenia. I don't think it was ever so extreme I would have started a thread about it (if the internet had existed back then -- besides I'd have figured everyone on the internet already knew without me positing about it), and it went away with age. Now, I get frustrated that my wife doesn't know what I'm thinking.

Even so, yeah it could be the weed. And it could be schizophrenia. Or maybe nothing.

And, it reminds me of a related piece of advice I once heard: Don't worry about what other people think about you -- they're not. Do you think your friend spends his days worrying about how you want to have sex with his girlfriend? No, he's too busy thinking about how he wants to have sex with your girlfriend.

I think that's what made me take it seriously, but since he described it as about his friend's girlfriend... yeah, I think it's pretty much nothing.

He should check back though if he starts thinking his teachers and his friend's girlfriend collude behind closed doors and have a plot to ruin him.
