I think it is funny that Ahmadinejad has ratcheted down his rhetoric now that Iran is a nuclear power. I mean, the only reason he hates Israel is to drum up support among his base (See Liberals in the eyes of the Neo-Conservative doctrine, or Muslims in the eyes of the 700 Club). Well, that, and the fact Israel displaced so many Palestinians without justification.

yeah Ahmadinejad, go ahead and use your new found nuclear power (which is supposed to be used for power plants and not weapons), destroy isreal, take out jahrusalem, and destroy your holy shrine the dome of the rock while you're at it....

    that'll teach 'em!

Iran is certainly a threat to it's citizens liberties, and to Israel as it supports various groups that engage in terrorism.

Israel is also a threat to its neighbors. It occupies territories, and makes laws that discriminate based on a person's nationality, including laws that don't relate to national security. It has nuclear weapons, and refused to sign agreements which Syria and other nations would sign banning WMD's from all nations in the middle east.

I think both Iran and Israel are a threat.

Iran president: Israel will be annihilated

    By ALI AKBAR DAREINI
    Associated Press

TEHRAN, Iran — The president of Iran again lashed out at Israel today and said it was "heading toward annihilation," just days after Tehran raised fears about its nuclear activities by saying it successfully enriched uranium for the first time.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Israel a "permanent threat" to the Middle East that will "soon" be liberated. He also appeared to again question whether the Holocaust really happened.

"Like it or not, the Zionist regime is heading toward annihilation," Ahmadinejad said at the opening of a conference in support of the Palestinians. "The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm."

Ahmadinejad provoked a world outcry in October when he said Israel should be "wiped off the map."

On Friday, he repeated his previous line on the Holocaust, saying: "If such a disaster is true, why should the people of this region pay the price? Why does the Palestinian nation have to be suppressed and have its land occupied?"

The land of Palestine, he said, referring to the British mandated territory that includes all of Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, "will be freed soon."

He did not say how this would be achieved, but insisted to the audience of at least 900 people: "Believe that Palestine will be freed soon."

"The existence of this (Israeli) regime is a permanent threat" to the Middle East, he added. "Its existence has harmed the dignity of Islamic nations."

The three-day conference on Palestine is being attended by officials of Hamas, the ruling party in the Palestinian territories.

Iran has previously said it will give money to the Palestinian Authority to make up for the withdrawal of donations by Western nations who object to Hamas' refusal to recognize Israel and renounce violence. But no figure has been published.

On Tuesday, Ahmadinejad announced that Iran had successfully enriched uranium using a battery of 164 centrifuges, a significant step toward the large-scale production of enriched uranium required for either fueling nuclear reactors or making nuclear weapons.

The United States, France and Israel accuse Iran of using a civilian nuclear program to secretly build a weapon. Iran denies this, saying its program is confined to generating electricity.

The U.N. Security Council has given Iran until April 28 to cease enrichment. But Iran has rejected the demand.

The chief of Israeli military intelligence, Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, was quoted Wednesday as saying Iran could develop a nuclear bomb "within three years, by the end of the decade."

Read into it what you will.

He reminds me of Bush. They should be friends.

He's also a little full of crap, he knows he'd be screwed if he dropped a nuke on Israel with a first strike.

Of course he knows. No one in Iran is talking about nuclear weapon production, which is ironic.

i dont understand why they dont just have one big country in the middle east called "WE DONT EAT PORKIA"

that's the big problem with that region, they have stupid religious and cultural differences. if they combine into one, then they can just be ruled by big corporations like the USA. Money rules the world. people in the region just dont get it.

Look at Russia, Vietnam, and China. They realize to survive in this world, they need to rule economically and have as much foreign money flowing through as possible.

you can have your stupid religion. I'll take money any day.

Good, then we can play both off each other and maintain some sort of a "balance of terror" in the region.

Will Smith is one the best an influential actors of our time.
I wish the world would learn from one of his movies.. I ROBOT

Humans made the Robots to protect the themselves from danger.
But the Robots figured out that the biggest danger to humans were humans.
So the Robots decided to take out the humans, until Will Smith saved the day.

maybe i'm too smart for all of you.

Remember why the apes thought they were supperior to the humans. humans destroyed the world and thats why the apes lived with the ultimate law ' APE SHALL NOT KILL APE'

you can learn good stuff from the movies.

Considering Iran's army isnt sitting on multiple other countries, and we are camping everywhere, I would say I can see their point.

It doesnt help Israel's perception around the world when they say they will nuke Iran's facilitiies, and are armed with nuclear weapons.

    Hypocrisy anyone?

And yes, Iran and North Korea are a threat, but so are we and Israel.

It's not too hard to see that...sheesh

Imperialism didn't start with World War One.

Ever hear of the Ottoman Empire?
