I just got a loved one an iPod Touch (early xmas shopping) and was wondering what are the must-have apps/programs to have. Is there a way to download apps for free (pwn?)?

    1. Googe "Pwnage," you should get links for the iPhone Dev Team. With Pwnage, it gives you the option to select which hardware you need the jailbreak for (Touch, Edge, or 3G) before downloading software.

    2. I have iPhone 3G (which I'm using for this post) so I don't know if all these apps work for Touch but....

    Shazaam
    Pandora
    AOL Radio
    MLB
    Facebook
    Myspace
    Krashcart
    Air Hockey

    Hope that helps....

You should change the post title to ipod touch/iphone as it contributes to owners of both.

    I second
    -Pandora
    -Shazam
    -Facebook
    -Myspace
    -Air Hockey

    And would add...
    -Google
    -Sportacular
    -Stitcher
    -AIM

All are Free and very good apps.

Ive paid for the following apps
-Tetris (once i beat it on the hardest level consistently the novelty wore off)
-Blackjack 21 (very good for the serious Blackjack player ;) )

Also I found this site the other day...

Nice thread. I have a Touch as well..

I tried installing some apps and it said they require the IPhone 2.0 update. Is there any way to avoid paying for the $9.95 software update?

QuickGold is the best app ever. Just jailbreak it and then DOWNLOAD QuickGold.

What it does is whenever you are on the home screen if you press the home button again it brings up the app instantly, from there, you can type whatever you want.

Ex. You can type Clu....and there will be a menu of things on your device that has the same letters. So if I went and started typing Clu I could be able to select clutchfans and go directly into the safari page.

If there are apps you want, just type in "You" and youtube will be selectable.

This also works for all your contacts, just type the name and you can call them fast and quickly.

You can also search google and everything.

If you don't want your homescreen cluttered download BossPrefs so you can hide some icons, by using quickgold, you can just type the name of the app you want and it'll launch.

    Here are some pics

    Hmmm...pwnage

What's the best screen protector for the ipod Touch/iPhone?

I just want the clear film to cover the touch screen. I don't need a case around it.

Power Support Anti-Glare film because it helps prevent fingerprint smudges on the screen.

Get it at the Apple Store.

AOL Radio definitely cause its let me listen to 610 AM.

It may be cheesy, but I like the Ambiance program with different sounds.
