First off I want to stay COSTCO IS AMAZING! I went and bought the old 4 GB Nano back in early august. Then when the New nano came, I just went today and returned my old one no questions asked and bought the new 8 Gb nano today for the exact same price. Now to my second point. Today I was looking through the itunes website and I saw the iTouch, which is the same thing as the ipod nano and video except for the fact that it has access to the internet. I figure I might as well return the ipod I just got for the iTouch and just pay 100 dollars extra for it. I have some questions about it though if anyone is willing to help me out here. 1. Do you have to pay anything at all to use the internet feature? 2. What is the average speed? Will I be able to stream rockets games through sopcast and stuff. 3. What is WiFi? 4. What is the range on the internet connection? Does it connect anywhere via sattelite or do you have to mooch off of wireless routers? Thanks in advance!
1. You don't have to pay anything 2. It all depends on the wireless router and what its connected to. The one thing about the ITouch is that it probably won't be able to stream games do to the fact that it can download the video player onto the ipod. 3. WiFi is term for 'wireless fidelity' or wireless internet. It means you can connect throught the internet through a wireless hotspot which can be found anywhere there is a wireless router present (coffee shops, various restaruants, ect..) 4. You would have to mooch of of a router to get internet access.
Do you think I would be able to get through to a high school internet connection? Or are those things heavily encrypted.
depends chances are your high school wireless signal is probably password protected, you could be able to find out what the password is from someone at the school but i dont think they would be too please with that. my iphone seems to have decent wireless capabilities but the range isnt as good as what you would find in a laptop or desktop pc wireless card
so you're saying, you bought the Nano more than a month ago, you USED it for a month, then went back, returned it for FULL PRICE, and basically exchanged for a 8 GB new nano? If so I need a costco membership
You never know for sure what they are going to have until you walk into a store, but Costco is indeed worth the membership. The biggest pain with Costco is that they only take American Express. Otherwise, you have to use cash, check, or ATM card. That can be a hassle for some folks.
You want to know the truth lol? I bought the ipod in april, the headphones broke down, so i took it back to use my warranty. It turns out i have a factory warranty for 1 year but they said you can just return the whole thing and go buy a new one with the money you got back. So in august i took the whole thing and returned it and with my 200 bucks i bought a new one. I did the same exact thing again today. But this has to be within 90 days of purchase though. And again, COSTCO IS BADASS.
90 day no question asked return policy on TV's, computers, ipods, and digital cameras. LIFETIME on everything else. I've seen people return BBQ grills that they used for a couple of years. Costco rocks.
I'm using my iPod touch right now!!! Its amazing! I go to ut where everything is wifi so I have no prob connecting and the speed is decent
Yeah, costco's return policy is pretty good and kind. This also helps it sell stuff. Speaking for myself, I buy from there even if I could find the same product on the internet cheaper, becasue knowing that I could return them without hassel worth extra bucks. And rarely have I returned becase Costco usually carry high quality products. I am a 7 year costco member.
The unlimited return policy is over. I remember starting a thread about it a while ago. It's still very lenient though. You can return electronics within 6 months no questions asked. That's what I do with my computers. I remember back in the day I abused that thing more than anything. Buy a 27'' TV, return it, get a new 32" for same price. Buy a 3 mp camera, return it, get a new 6 mp camera for same price. Computers, however, were always 6 months. I even bought my 360 from there just because of the unlimited warranty, knowing that if anything goes wrong, I can return it or just get a new one without having to deal with Microsoft personally. Of course, nothing has gone wrong with the 1+ years I've had it. Actually, I wouldn't even call it "abusing the system." It was always their policy and one of the incentives of being a member. $100/yr has to be justified
I've been a member for years. I'll even go when I'm just bored and don't need anything. That store kicks ass.
thats the problem.. the touch doesnt have the necessary files to watch videos other than youtube videos.. [im not sure if i can download flash onto my touch] but you tube videos are clear
once you have it synced with itunes, click on your Ipod icon, and to the right there will be tabs [music, videos, pictures, etc..] click pictures and the rest is easy
