Can someone help me out. I want to get my son one but I dont really understand how it works or anything else about it. Thanks.
1. buy ipod 2. create mp3 files from your personal cd collection 3. plug ipod into computer 4. download music into ipod 5. listen and enjoy
6...he loves music and when i saw the commercial, it looked like something he would like Rockhead...is using his cd collection the only way to get songs on the ipod?
Just a quick question: Why is the iPod so much more expensive than regular MP3 players? Is the quality that much higher?
my mp3 player i got last summer has 128 mb storage (about 35 songs) the ipod is more expensive bc theres just so much more space to store stuff. i think they come in like 5 gb, 10 gb, 20 gb (thatd be at least 4000 songs) if you have the means i highly reccomend it. just tell him to take care of it if he brings it to school. 6 year olds playing with a $300 mp3 player..... that could get ugly
i don't know if i would recommend an iPod for a six year old. you can get an inexpensive off-brand that does the same thing for a lot less (and a lot less room) i don't know if a six year old can grasp the concept of taking care of a $300 piece of equipment. --- no, you can download them from i-tunes (for a fee)
Storage space. Hardware quality. Status. I probably wasted my money, but after 4 months, I still really enjoy mine.
If you're on Windows you need better than '98 and a Firewire port or USB 2.0, the latter of which will require the separate purchase of a cable. I got the big boy--30 gigs--and I've got 2300 songs on it, with like 24 gigs to go, so yeah, it holds a lot of music. Plus, the design and user-friendliness is just what you'd expect from Apple.
Yeah, six seems kind of young for IPOD. I'd buy a cheap model that can hold like 30 songs and take a beating. RCA seems to be good for this type scenario.
another great mp3 player i was checking out is the neuros mp3 player it has a 128mb base and an add-on 20gb "backpack" so you could let your kid use the 128 and if you want to listen, just clip on the backpack the neuros has some cool features like a wireless FM transmitter so you can listen to your collection in your car for example. it also has a thing on it where when you are listening to the radio on the mp3 player and you hear a song you like but dont know the name, you press a button and it records a clip of the song and the next time you sync it with your computer, it access the Neuros database and sees if it can find the song. if it does it will give you all the info about it i think the total cost for the whole thing with a car charger and stuff was about 220. look for the website on google
If all he's going to do is use his CD collection to get fill up his mp3 player, I certainly wouldn't go with an iPod. You'd have to have a lot of CD's to fill up even the smallest iPod. As we get closer to Christmas, you might be able to find a good 256mb player for about $150. Half the price and still about 60 songs or so. I have a 128mb player, and I have a hard time picking which songs I want to put on it. I usually end up with about 15-20 songs on it at a time. You can probably find a 128mb mp3 player for under $100. I think I'd go that route for a six-year-old.
Hahaha... Don't get your 6 year-old an iPod. That's not fair. An RCA would probably be a better choice.
ipod's a good gadget. i had one myself until i dropped the damn thing. sooo ummmm... if you're going to get one for him, advise him not to drop it. okay? okay. by the way, if you're going to put up the money for an ipod, you may want to look at the dell dj also. just go to their homepage and they'll have a pic and details about it. as many deals as they have i'm sure that there will be some sort of discount. mailing list i'm on gives you 30 bucks off the 20 gig one. you can get the songs from the dell music store. either one i'm sure he'll enjoy.
IPOD is the one thing that u can bribe ur childs love with. OTher than a car . it is soooo sweet, i used to have a 5Gig one and i thoought that was the stuff, now with all these other cool upgrades, i would recommend one for u to get your child ( also u can use it when he doesnt)
