I would assume you could just do it the same way you set up your original iPhone: through iTunes. Just plug it in and iTunes should recognize a new phone and ask you if you want to activate a new account (or update an already-existing account).
    Good luck.

BTW, if you want to hack your iPhone/iPod Touch, AppSnapp is a breeze to use. NES emulator ftw!

And when they update the firmware, you'll get hosed. I already saw it happen to someone.

Apple is being a real prick about 3rd party software. Please don't pull a Sony. PSP is a lot worse thanks to Sony's dumbass moves.

so basically just switch out simcards. So I put the new simcard from the 8GB into the 4gb and the old simcard from the 4gb into the 8gb?

Will the 4gb be able to re-activated by anymore (future buyer).

btw what do you mean by sync w/iphones? through iTunes?

Yes. iTunes asks you first. However, in keeping with its newfound reputation as "toolbag corporation extraordinaire", it is possible that Apple could start forcing firmware changes.

I guarantee you, the iPhone hacking community will be EXTREMELY careful about upgrading to the next firmware when it comes out. The effect of 1.0.2 --> 1.1.1 has everyone on edge now.
