http://gizmodo.com/5520164/this-is-apples-next-iphone "You are looking at Apple's next iPhone. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. We got it. We disassembled it. It's the real thing, and here are all the details" - Gizmodo See full article for more pictures and details as well as video coverage.
Already posted. But it's not what the phone is going to look like. http://tumblr.frijole.info/post/531571428/apple-prototypes
Can't believe people are b****ing about the new look. It look solid and way way better than the old iPhone. You no longer need to wrap an ugly condom around the iPhone to protect it. But I'll still stay away from it because I have no love for the new OS 4 and the same boring UI.
I saw the few endgadget pictures in the other thread but Gizmodo has some good quality pictures along with video to get a better feel for the way it looks. Also, they make the bold statement that this "is the next iPhone" citing their reasons for believing so.
I hate the curved back of the 3GS, so the flat back is a welcome change. Looks like they've addressed a lot of the hardware issues people had with the 3GS.....I'm interested in seeing public reception. Apple's stock has done quite nicely since the release of the iPad in the past month, so you've gotta think this will only help things.
I'd be shocked if that was the finished product. But I guess how many ways can you really package the iPhone? Either way, I'll be upgrading from my 3G when it is released this Summer. I'm personally a big fan of the curved design, it helps absorb shock and feels more natural in your hand. This clunky/boxy design is an ergonomic and durability nightmare waiting to happen it seems.
Aesthetically speaking, am I the only one who likes the original 2G version the best? There is something about the design and the high build quality that just makes it stand out from the rest. I actually liked my original so much that I upgraded to a 16gb 2G for $200 on eBay just last week. And since I don't have ATT, I have no use for the 3G/4G just yet. One day, when I'm ready to spend $100 a month, I'll switch. But since I have access to a computer/wifi 90% of the time, I don't believe I'll ever see a point in it.
Maybe they want this iphone to look bad so that this will give people a reason to upgrade once the next one comes out. Kinda like how the ipond nano went from long to square-ish to long again.
I didn't like those blurry shots posted earlier, but seeing it on clear video has made me like the design more. It feels solid, and more mature, whereas the 3G/S felt like a toy.
Any idea when this new model is supposed to come out. I'm due for an upgrade early next month. Wonder if I should hold out for a little bit if a newer model is about to be released.
Can't wait. I'm probably going to decide between this and the latest Android offering on Verizon when the new iPhone comes out. Are there any new Droid phones expected after the Incredible in June?
