It just seems better than the iPad. Multi-tasking, multi-core, USB ports, Flash 10.1, HDMI out, new app store, dUAL cams, enterprise ready for business, & a new OS that is supposed to be good for gaming too.
Sounds impressive. The problem is people are always creating devices that look better on paper than the Apple products yet fail to deliver in the real world. I love my Ipad (but hate my ****ing Iphone but not as much as I've hated both RIM products I've owned).
I think the Ipad screen size is perfect. If it had a hdmi output and a usb port I'd buy one today. The blackberry is nice looking though the screen may be too small. I'm not sure how the app store compares to apples either, which is a major selling point.
I wasn't too impressed with the promo... it was trying to hard to impress and be artsy without showing the playbook's actual handling changing apps/typing etc.
I am leaning heavily toward jumping to Sprint and getting the EVO in a few months. I am not impressed with the Iphone AT ALL.
4,000,000 iPads are a lot to try and kill. Spoiler IIRC I heard those sales figures, but google could not confirm.
actually is a trifecta. 1. palm foleo concept/patent (syncs with smartphone). 2. multitasking card concept. 3. yep... bb torch. i'd be uberly surprised if legal action isn't taken before the playbooks 1st quarter (calendar year) release. despite a definitive "no" to licensing webos, they might as well had though i'm not sure what phone manufacturer would pay for webos (even though webos is pretty as hell) since no one pays for android. no it's not an ipad killer. playbook, slate, webos tab, and other android tabs will just make post holidays shopping that much more fun.
Really? I bought a blackberry after I broke my second iPhone. What it lacks on fun apps compared to the iPhone it more than makes up for with phone quality. It holds connection, the sound quality is better, and the speakerphone quality is better. For all the things that the iPhone is great at, it is a lousy phone. Since that's my main use for a cell phone, that's unforgivable to me.
There are more tablets coming out in the next few weeks than God. Engadget is basically a tablet blog now.
