    Apple Store has the 1st gen 16 gig for $299, the 2nd gen for $349
    (refurbs)

    Anyone still use the 1st gen? is it worth $299?

    I still use my first gen. I was going to sell it to a coworker for 250 and upgrade to the 3. After playing with it for a while, i backed out of the deal. It was pretty underwhelming. For what I use it for (tv shows, Internet, email) I don't think I'll ever need to upgrade.

    To answer your question, i value the first one at 250. I don't think I'd spend 300. Might as well pay 60 more and get a new iPad2 from microcenter.

    I got an iPad 1 for my Mom when it came out and whenever I compare it to my iPad 2, it's incredibly sluggish. Go for at least the 2.

    I bought a 16gb att 3g ipad 1 for my kids last summer off craigslist. It works great.

    I love the new one I bought for myself last week but I don't see a reason to upgrade theirs.

    I'd buy the 2 before I'd buy the one if starting out and I wasn't going to buy the 3.

    Jump from 1 to 2 is pretty substantial from what I understand. Jump from 1 to 3 would be massive.

    If you are buying one for the first time, unless you *really* don't want to spend the 100-150 bucks, get the 3.
