I posted about it here> https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/how-wemby-broke-the-rockets-offense.328429/#post-16035141 Sengun in triple threat facing up at 18 feet.. Bring Amen up from baseline, sets pick with defensive big on him Make defensive big choose to either go with Alpi or try to fade with Amen It's just that simple guys I cannot believe this board doesn't have more posters all over strategy
I recall seeing a video a while back talking about how efficient Sengun was as the roll man in the PnR. I think it was something like 1.1+ ppp I thought for sure we'd see a lot of that with the double big line-up, but I don't think (correct me if I'm wrong) it's ever been incorporated in the offense
People have talked about all kinds of things strategy wise. I myself have wondered why Amen isn't used as a screener in the PNR...Especially with Reed who likes to attempt those lob passes. And also with KD.... Almost the only way to combat Amen diving to the rim after setting a good screen would be to play drop coverage and if they do that then KD as the ball handler has a free shot or an open teammate from a rotation. But this team just likes to iso so damn much. And then when they do set screens they are shitty at best. Adams and sometimes Capela are the only guys who actually try to set a good screen...Everybody else acts like it's the last thing they want to do.
I don't think Ime has ever tried a kick out to an open canine SG: Gotta pivot since Sheppard can't find his shot these days.
Yeah I’ve been calling for it, should be a foundational part of our half court offense. At this point if Ime goes to it and it works, it’ll be more evidence he has to go for taking 3 years to figure out obvious things.
