This team would be much better off with Mutumbo on the roster.

Let's see how well we do in a series against a frontcourt of Bynum, Gasol and Odom...then see if a 7 footer who can BLOCK SHOTS and REBOUND would be helpful...

Mark my words...not signing Deke will come back to haunt us

I think that Jason is the best at asking questions to Daryl. I think we get a better hindsight on the team and what management really wants to do. If you ever listen to like 610, they ask really stupid questions. I think 1560 is pretty good but I think Jason is the best.

    Well that's just my opinion.

we are not getting Deke back :( Morey always say when we free up room when we free up room..how much room do you need. We dont even have 15 players on the roster there is an open spot for him just sign the guy!!! I dont know if he means cap but Deke was with us last season he shouldnt even effect the cap situation. It sounds like they don't want him. Even when we did have him he wasn't even used until Yao went out

I think this is probably Morey's strategy to open this position to a yonger center.

Followed what Morey said in the interview, the most possible return for Battier will be in the Wednesday game against Pacer.

right on. The manager should aim for the big picture, the long-term goal.

Letting Deke hang around till late season is best for both parties. Deke regularly played half seasons anyway, and has been trying to spend time with his family.

I bet if Jason asked Adelman about the backip center, he will say the Rox need a body.

He should visit the GARM if he wants get caught up day to day emotionally, but that might result in trading T-Mac for Marbury.

The Rockets are right at the luxury tax limit. Our owner doesn't want to pay luxury tax. That means the Rockets aren't going to sign another player and push us further over the LT limit unless we can cut some salary with a trade. That's what the Rockets are looking into right now.

The Rockets have also said that for situational matchups, they may use Deke or another 7-footer, but in general this is what our front court rotation will be -- Yao, Scola, Landry, Hayes. Deke is essentially injury-insurance. He's also a great locker-room guy, and a great bench guy. He may help in practice also.

    Absolutely 100% agreed.

Does anyone seriously think Deke won't be in uniform for the second half of the season?

The only reason he currently ISN'T is so that we can avoid the lux tax AND receive the monies that other teams pay in lux tax. We'll be a few million better off for not signing Deke for a few weeks - great move.

Can we just hire Deke was the locker room cleaner or something now and sign him later?
