Seems Ron still wants back, then again, with or without Yao, Houston's interest is still a good ticket for Ron to get paid.

Nothing suprising, what you would expect any agent who isn't an idiot to say.

Apparently, Lakers and Cleveland both want Ron. Lebron "personally reached out to Ron." Boston and Orlando both mentioned. Bauman said Ron would not consider taking a severe pay cut to join these teams, though.

In sum, it seems Ron is considering:

    1. Return to the Rockets and get paid, or
    2. Take the MLE from one of the "top teams." But, naturally, he prefers getting paid.

I think the trick is to make an offer big enough that Ron wouldn't give away the extra money to take the MLE, but not too big considering his level of play.

i cant see how the lakers would be able to sign ron if they keep both ariza and odom, but i guess they'd let ariza walk if they got ron

i can see the cavs maybe targeting him but lebron plays ron's natural SF position.

either team cant offer more than the MLE

Houston is still his best choice since we can offer him the most money thats all

Yes, Lakers, Cleveland, Boston and Orlando could give Ron an offer. but that is a MLE, I do not think they can give him more. Plus that I do not think Lakers need him, and give him a MLE.
