    Hello friends,

I make cold calls. Recently the company my team cold calls stopped giving out the numbers for their employees. Well this causes a problem for me, you see, as I can no longer call people if I do not have their numbers.

I figured there was someone here who is good at finding things in the bowels of the internet. Maybe they could find a company directory if one exists out there. I would pay a finder's fee.

Message me an I will tell you which company I am looking for.

Get a new job. I hate the jerk who cold calls me almost daily. My phone is for work purposes. I don't come to work to get a sales pitch.

I used to make cold calls working in a market research company. It was horrible.

You'd be surprised at how quickly people blow up when you interrupt their dinner.

It's bad enough it happens at home, but you should not be cold calling people at a place of business.

Nothing personal, but I hope no one can help you.

If you know their name, just call up the receptionist and ask to speak to them. She'll transfer. You don't need their number.
That's how all these fools call me.

call the company back and say you are doing a story about the Rockets and want to get feedback about the labor agreement so you can write a story about them. Then you are in. Get the numbers,,,ask them about the Rockets...then later call them back to sell whatever it is you sell.

be creative...think outside the box. Then post the story here about their actual Rockets feedback

man, i should not be encouraging you. get another job.

What are you calling for? Maybe I can help, I get a directory twice a month but it is not cold calling. In Real Estate we stay away from true cold calls bc of the Do-not-call list.

I've always thought the opposite of this.

And I was a business-to-business cold-caller once. My first real job, 17. Won't do it again.

Cold calls are about as r****ded as anything. If you can't take 2 seconds to do the research and figure out who you are calling, why should you be allowed to live?

"Does your company deal in real estate..." GFY
"Hello, sir. This is not an advertising call..." GFY
"Hello, yes, may please I speak to the business manager or person in charge..." GFY

For those of you ripping on cold callers, how do you expect companies to sell their services? Just open an office, make a product and then sit there hoping your phone starts ringing with customers? You have to have an outside sales force...

OP-you need to get creative. There has to be a way to get a company directory or something...Call random extensions after hours to get the names of the people on the other end, I don't know...use your brain...doubt anyone is going to "hack" their way into information for you.
