Is there an option in IE to disable the ability to open a page in a new window? It used to work before, but I gave my computer to a techie to fix something and now I can't open anything in a new window. Anyone know how to fix it?

nah, i've had the google pop-up blocker on forever, and that never caused the problem before. i even disabled it to give it a shot, but that's not it...

Sucks when you can only surf one p*rn site at a time.

Have you tried downloading Service Pack 1 for IE6? I'm assuming that's the version you have...but I don't really know if SP1 would have anything to do with your problem. I've vowed to never use Internet Explorer again, or else I'd play around and try to re-create that for you. I'm sure somebody's gonna say it if I don't, so I'll offer the obligatory "Just download Mozilla Firefox and go to http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/ to customize the hell out of your browser and make it do whatever you want."

Seriously though, I've gotten used to tabbed browsing via middle clicking links instead of right-clicking to open a new window. I also got tab browser extensions
    [IMG]
so I can make links and many other things do whatever I want them to do (like open up in a new window or tab when it's certain types of links, but not when it's another), without ever even having to right/middle click. Browsing's much more cool when you can make your browser do whatever you want it to just by clicking a link and installing an extension.

If you misspell something, I just highlight it, right-click it and search dictionary.com to see what the real spelling or definition is. If you talk about a movie or actor I don't know about, I do the same but search IMDB.com for it. It automatically opens up a new tab with the search results because that's the way I like it. I then just middle-click the tab it opened and it automatically kills that one and focuses back on this page because that's the way I like it. My bookmarks open up in new tabs because I told them to. When I start my browser, it loads both the GARM forum and the Hangout forum, side-by-side in tabs. I used to have it load ESPN.com and Yahoo too, but I told it not to do that any more. Again, seriously, there are many reasons to consider the switch.

I hear ya on the Mozilla/Firefox thing. I would do so, but my computer is owned by my employer. When I quit in a couple months and my school forces me to buy my own, I'll be free-er to customize and install all the software I want.

For anyone that may be having the same problem, this somehow solved the problem. Under the Start menu, I went to run and entered in the following:

    regsvr32 urlmon.dll

Once I did that, everyting magically started working again. I don't know why or how, but it works.
