I just switch from AT&T 3 Mbps DSL to Comcast 25 Mbps since they gave me a deal for $49.99 with cable for 1yr. Anyway, I know most of you guys dont like IE, but I dunno why my IE is taking forever to load. Chrome and Mozilla works fine. The thing is I have this youtube to mp3 program .. and is just lagging on trying to download. I'm not sure if is sync with IE or not. I did a search and found a Microsoft link where you can "reset" the IE browser with a "FIXIT" click, but it didn't help. It takes about 20 second to load the Homepage, and alot longer if I try to go to another site. Anyone know what the issue could be? I installed a Linksys E900 router and just updated the firmware also, but no luck.
First, have you tried turning it off and on again? Since Mozilla and Firefox work fine then its not your internet. Make sure you have the latest version of IE and all the updates. Then try disabling all the extra crap in IE -Click on the option icon (gear) > Manage Add-Ons and disable the ones you don't need. Some of them may actually show you what the load time is in seconds. -Delete all temporary IE files
This. Open up that laggy IE browser, click the address bar, type in firefox.com, chrome.com, or even opera.com. Delete IE from your system. /thread.
I think that most posters in the apple v android thread would come to together to tell you to ditch IE. I know this isnt the answer to your question, but... Just sayin'...
damn these ads. how did it know I went to Boston Market. I never google searched it or anything. Stupid big brother! oh, yeah on the topic. Chrome seems to run faster, but every now and then it clogs up. Oh, and my comcast sucks monkey ass balls. 56k was faster. something is wrong with my modem, that is all.
I was fully committed to Internet Explorer for probably 12 - 13 years, then my Amazon digital stops working because it either didn't retain or never loaded the Adobe Shockwave updates. Never had those particular problems with Firefox or Chrome. Also started using that German Softmaker package after my last laptop buy, so might slowly be transitioning away from Microsoft. Only saving grace is Chrome's weird issues with the latest Outlook web stuff and Citrix clients for work websites.
Your internet connection, and router have nothing to do with rendering of Internet Exploder. Is there a particular reason you like using IE?
I never googled anything about Boston Market. I just thought it up last night, and then I come back to use the computer, and BAM, a Boston Market ad. There was a chick in a skirt that was a size too small. She had a HUGE ass too at that Boston market. That is all.
i know everyone hates on IE, but lately it hasn't been as bad. just looked up a more recent comparison--CNET has IE beating Chrome in boot time and memory usage. Firefox does beat both down.. but still, to the people suggesting the op is an idiot for using IE--doesn't seem it's necessarily the case http://download.cnet.com/8301-2007_4-20047314-12.html
That is over a year old. Fairly out of date when you compare browsers. You also have the security issues that often come with I.E, which I recall hearing of one recently. That being said I agree performance wise I.E has lessened the gap in recent years but overall it's still inferior to the other main two. Considering they're free I just don't understand why people would not choose the best. Is it just laziness? I mean it's not that hard to download and switch browsers. I would of argued Firefox over anyone until recently but have now switched to Chrome, I have no problem with Firefox just decided I preferred Chrome.
