Great I'm switching from Comcast to another internet Nazi this month . Though I don't think I download the 250GB comcast is trying to put on their customers, I do think I use close to 150GB. *sigh*
Well, if 50% of the bandwidth is being used by 5% of users, and they cap those users, then everyone else should feel the benefits of that. If I were running AT&T I'd do the same thing.
This is aggravating because XBox is going to make an update to their Live service soon and integrate with Netflix's "Watch Now" feature so that Netflix customers can stream their online movies through the XBox onto the TV. I never use that feature now because it isn't convenient to watch Netflix online vids on my computer, but in my living room on my bigscreen it is. If a cap is introduced, I wonder how feasible it will be to watch these Netflix streaming movies.
As I said in the other thread, I'll be going back to Comcast for internet, getting the business line with no cap. Just awesome how none of these companies want to invest in upgrades of their existing infrastructure, they just want to rape the customer on price and now cap bandwidth. Netflix, etc. offering movies on demand on the PC will have a hard time keeping up this service thanks to these Nazi's. I read a post in one of the music forums that one guy in Sweden had a 50/20 uncapped line and was paying $29.99 USD a month for it. Must be nice. USA, home of the greed.
Ohhh, that one thing! I was gonna, but I switched to U-Verse and have no modem anymore. I did buy one though and will keep it in case I move back to Comcast. That chit seems hard though.
it is not greed. It is the FACT that our infastructure is the oldest in the world. If we had waited till the late 90's to dump billions into lines we would have very cheap internet also.
Seriously... I hope AT&T enjoyed all of those new subscribers from Comcast who switched over because of the cap....idiots.
