From the post game interviews from the Charlotte game:

"Ron did a great job. Both ends--defense, offense. He always gives us, he always sets the tone for us, mentally, come out, play strong, play hard. He always tries to get an extra possession for us. Those three pointers he made, feel surprised? I'm not."

First, looks like Ron's showing some leadership.

Second, sounds like there could be some good chemistry developing. Yao was very complimentary of Ron Ron.

No question about it, it was just a matter of time along with some consistency in the line-up which they finally have.

Is it just me or does Ron look like he's trying harder now? I personally think his ego is so large, he stifled himself in the presence of McGrady. I believe Ron thinks to himself that it's McGrady's team and the other guys are too passive to care about his ego and will naturally give him space.

McGrady goes down, and Ron's trying again. I think that's pathetic. Has anyone else noticed when Ron sees the camera on him, he'll quickly put his arm around someone's shoulder and start talking to them and pointing to things on the floor? I also think it's strange he always seems to know when the camera will be on him.

It seems rather clear what motivates Ron and it isn't done for anyone but Ron.

There's an obvious flaw in this ridiculous assertion. I'll let you figure out what it is.

    is he still injured?

now with tmac and rafer out of the line up I can see our dismal fg% increasing to respectable standards

Did you know that Michael Jordan won all those championships because he wanted to be a great basketball player? What a selfish b*stard. Chicago was just lucky MJ was wearing their uniform.

On a more serious note, the Rockets have been playing great AS A TEAM with GREAT SUPPORT from Ron Artest.

I thought the team traded Rafer away to make Yao the leader? Now it seems like Yao is defering to Artest. Does Yao ever learn?

You are under the status "rookie"

It takes a bit of time, ranging from months to years (lol), for you to gain "member" status. It has its benefits, such as creating more threads. And is it possible, nay, probable, that you have more credibility as a member? :D (Futurama)

Just contribute to the site with "solid" posts that express well-thought out opinions in a proper manner...or whatever and you'll be fine.

PS - Start useless threads and you're back to rookie!

Whatever juice Artest is drinking, I hope the rest of team catches it.

    No lay-ups! :D

In China, leader drives you. << Family Guy or something (In Russia, car drives you)

I come from a cultural background similar to Yao and I kind of think that it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE for Yao to ever be as much a verbal leader as we'd like. If he were more Americanized to the point where you say whatever you want, whenever you want, whatever is on your mind with no respect or consideration to your audience, it may be possible. But sometimes, in the Confucius-based culture, you have to respect other people base on their age, status, etc.

Not all Chinese are like that. There are Chinese who don't value Confucius at all. Just like not all Braziliams are great football player.
You may say Yao is a typical, conventional Chinese guy.

Ron Artest doesn't belong in the same thread as Michael Jordan. MJ didn't have it in his blood to SLACK. Ever. Ron slacks when he's not the princess. Period.
