What if Blazers and Rockets do a S&T for Damon but he or one of the Rockets traded for doesn't pass their physical. The Blazers signed him, are they stuck with him.

This post is eereily similar to JR662's threads. If players don't pass physicals, Portland in this case has the right to call the deal off. What would make you think that our players wouldn't pass a physical? JVG runs a boot camp

I would be more worried about Damon passing his drug test

I could easily see Sura not passing a physical, at least if all the talk about his back is true. But, doesn't the player sign a contract with the team before the trade, or is it more of a stipulation, "we sign you only if this deal goes through" which seems like it wouldn't make sense. How does the team guarantee it.

It seems like a lot of Rocket fans right now believe us signing Swift, especially to the MLE, is too good to be true and are expecting something bad to happen to the Rockets at any time now. Why? I don't know, maybe they are just used to the Rockets being a bad team and expect Houston to backslide somehow? It is a mystery. Alot of us are celebrating and find ourselves daydreaming about the possibilities next season or even dreaming (like me). However, there are a small percentage of Rocket fans on this site waiting for the sky to fall or something. It almost seems like some fans don't want the Rockets to do well judging from some people's posts around here.

But forget them, I'll celebrate (and daydream) enough for 50 Rocket fans right now. Do your part! Lol ;)

I heard him and Tractor Traylor are on a special diet, they will be fit in no time.

That's good to hear. I hope he can improve his game and play some backup minutes behind Swift/Yao/Mutombo/Howard.

My line questioning is because I have a general interest in knowing how this type of deal goes if it hits a snag, like a failed physical. How does a team take back a signing?

signings are normally dependent on the players passing their physicals

if they dont pass, the deal is null and void.

btw...the last thing I had heard on Sura's back was that they had determined that he just needed rest and recuperation after the last doctor checkup to get it back in shape...he had it fixed, but played too much on it before it was fully healed.

..trades are contingent upon the players passing the physical, if they don't the team can call the trade off. Remember, that happened with the Rockets when we traded for Sean Elliott, he didn't pass our physical because of his kidney problem, and Horry and Bullard had to come back to the Rockets.

Remember when we tried to get Sean Elliot for Robert Horry?
