First i would like to say i beleived in Yao from the begining and to all who hated on him were are you now we should make a list of these people who wanted to trade him to the clips for a odom and laugh at them when we win the championship.

Second, after last nights game do you think now rashard will look at our team and see that it has a legitimate chance to winning it all and join us for less money?

And Third if Steve has a problem with Houston or Yao i beleive we should trade him we dont need a star PG like him we could take someone like Andre Miller and someone else for him in a trade and i think our team would improve.

    What do you all think?

I think I went with Yao whenever we got the pick. I actually would have wanted him before, but didn't think we'd have a chance. I wouldn't have minded trading it, because that would have meant that Rudy and Co. would have thought that would be
better. (but the kept it, didn't they. :) )

I doubt Lewis would want to come here for less money. The only way I see it is if Seattle gets really PO'ed and says forget it, you aren't getting nothing. Then he'll sign only because he needs a job. We may trade for him, but I'm kind of against that.

I'm sure Steve doesn't have a big problem with Yao. He just wants to win, and wasn't sure how much of a project Yao would be. I'm sure he has faith in Rudy and when the season comes around, so will he.

But if he doesn't, and we are 12-0, then maybe we should. But I don't see that happening.(sp?)

(BTW, can't get AM or BD, I think, since they just signed or got traded.)

First of all I think that you should spell Theory's as theories.

Second of all I think before anyone saw him play it was a little feasible to think about trading the pick. Mainly to get something a little more guaranteed. We didn't even know if he would be able to play in the NBA and most of us had never seen him play. We had only seen Shawn Bradley.

And about trading Steve Francis, you are way too caught up in the recent Ming hysteria. If we didn't have Steve Francis right now no one would be thinking future championship just based on Yao Ming. Everyone who knows anything about basketball and wants the rockets to win is happy because now we have good post players to go with our already outstanding backcourt. And if you think Andre Miller isn't a star point guard and that LA would throw someone else in with a trade for Steve you are terribly mistaken and need to watch some Clippers games next year because you obviously didn't see many cavs games last year.

I hope Steve signs but if he wants to create problems, we should trade him to the Grizzlies where he belongs.. See how he would like it over there..

Then we could have both J.Williams and Yao Ming. Good idea!

Rashard's not coming to Houston. Accept it. This team doesn't need any more scorers. They need role players.

As far as the PG situation, with a strong post presence, Francis does not need to lead the league in assists. Offensively Steve, like the rest of the guards, needs to rotate the ball to find the open man, create when the shot clock is down and take advantage of any openings. It's all about team play now with the occasional iso to keep the other team honest. Keep the ball moving with as little dribbling as possible.

Steve and Cuttino are some of the best finishers in the game. They'll find the holes and blow right to the hoop for a very high percentage shot. The team's shooting percentage should go up fairly dramaticly.

To acuse fellow posters of being Yoa-haters and then turn around and propose trading Francis seems rather silly to me.

Rashard wants to come to Houston. He just wants more money.

"Not gonna happen, it wouldn't be prudent" (Bush)

Francis should and will stay. We need him.

    He also wants more money.

I'm sure his friends are trying to influence Francis, saying that
"Yao is getting all the attention." Or saying, "Who is da'man
on the Rockets, you or Yao? You should ask for more money!"

    Don't know.

That being said, why is it taking so long for Francis to sign this year?

By the way, do you know what is contract amount is: 6 year, 7 year?
    And for how much?

Some things take awhile. Yao's been in the US for a while, and he hasn't been signed yet. (officially.) Some things just need a little working out.

I don't know about the length. I've read they could do 3yrs to see where they both are in that time. (Rocket's future, and Steve's migraines.) If they don't want to do that, they should go for 7 IMO, if they can.

Francis is on hold because he is making up his mind if he wants to be paid every two weeks or in ONE LUMP SUM, like SHAQ,at the begining of the Season. The latter doesn't make good sence,. for the Rox to pay everything before performance and chemistry is set. What if the player rebels against the Coach or avoids including certain players in the game? What if he has repeated physical problems? Francis needs to prove himself this coming season, that he is the Leader and creator of Team Chemistry and Team Basketball . If he does this, he will earn the respect of every Rox Fan and deserve everything he is due in 03/04 and beyond.
