I posted earlier about Athlon's basketball prediction. Well I ended up buying the magazine b/c I thought I'd be out of electricity for a while b/c of the hurricane. In any case, if anyone wants me to type up the articles in it about the Rockets I can. One of the interesting things I found in the magazine was on the last page. They had some information about dunks and shots. I'll list where the Rockets players were.

Dunk Leaders--------- Yao Ming tied with Lebron James for 7th with 126

Players with the highest field goal percentage when dunks are removed---- Yao Ming tied with Matt Harpring for 9th with .485

Players with the most field goals who had no dunks----- David Wesley for 10th with 334

Players with the highest percentage of field goals that were dunks--- Stromile Swift tied with Shaq for 6 with 38.8

Leading dunkers in the playoffs------Yao Ming tied with a bunch of guys with 20  (impressive considering Yao was the only guy in the entire list that didn't make it past the first round)

Players with more than 50 dunks and more than 50 3 pointers--- T mac with 62 dunks and 142 threes

Another thing I found interesting was who led the Rockets in scoring. Obviously T mac was first then Yao but third was none other then David Wesley (granted he did play part of the season for the Hornets). For all those people who talk about how expendable Wesley is I think they forget how much offense and how much defense this team gets from him. Just in case you guys are curious the order in scoring on this team is as follow

    T Mac
    Yao
    Wesley
    Mike James
    Sura
Swift (though wasn't on our team last yr)
    Howard
    Barry
Ward (with his amazing 14 games played)
    Mutombo
    Norris
    Bowen
    Vin Baker

Could you list the top 6 players on the dunk list? I thought Yao and Lebron were higher than 7th.

Could you also look up Amare's non-dunk field goal percentage?

    Shaq
    Amare
    Kenyon Martin
    Dwight Howard
    Shawn Marion
    Eddy Curry

I think whats amazing about Yao's stats is that the Rockets play a possession style game so his stats are in no way inflated (unlike an Amare or Marion).

Amare's non dunk field goal percentage is not listed here he didn't even make the top ten, I'll list the top ten in case u are curious.

    Steve Nash
    Mark Blount
    Brad Miller
    Grant Hill (still has it)
    Jason Terry (Rocket killer)
Wally Szczerbiak (Still not better then Garnett)
    Mike Miller (T Mac's buddy)
Primoz Brezec (Why did the Rockets suck against the Bobcats soo much?)
    Yao Ming (GO YAO)
    Matt Harpring (Very underrated player)

Also can't help but notice that ( the widely respectd )JVG chose to put Wesley on the floor more than anybody except for Tmac and Yao. Had to be some reason.
