http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/041101 I always thought MJ and Scottie were like Crockett and Tubbs. Crockett got most of the attention, and deservedly so ... but he's still not taking Calderone down without Tubbs. I like Simmons, but can someone please explain the Crockett and Tubbs analogy? I am drawing a blank on that one.
As a Boston fan, let me just say that, for a variety of reasons, Simmons' column has gone in the tank recently.
I think Jordan is the most overrated player in the history of the NBA, but I still think he is largely responsible for Pippen being on the top 50 list and that Pippen got all his rings by hitching his wagon to Jordan's star.
I felt like posting something about how "Interesting Pippen article" was almost an oxymoron, but then I decided to read it instead... and it's making me rethink my anti-Pippen stand just a bit... so you are right, it IS interesting... I always thought he was the ultimate punk for taking himself out for that Kukoc play, and then I didn't like the way he handled himself in Houston, but now I'm going to reconsider at least a little... I like how Simmons tried to provide some context for his f-ups... there is no denying his contribution to the game... thanks! I'd guess I'd LIKE to stop "hating" a guy I don't even know...
