Bobby Jackson and Bonzi Wells have been traded for each other twice. Bonzi from Memphis to Sac for Bobby, and then Bonzi from Houston to New Orleans for Bobby. I found that quite interesting.

You know whats also intersting? These two players used to be big pieces on the same team, but they no longer are.

They both sucked it up in playoff games...it was painful to watch bonzi yesterday rofl but it felt good after what NO gave us in return for him :p

I hope it won't happen again. I honestly thought keeping Bonzi was marginally better because I felt he could help Tracy and the latter could take Rafer's role in the event of Rafer going down, but Bonzi isn't going to be enough be any means especially with a 6M long term contract.

Really, when we traded for BJax it made sense. Yao was healthy and Landry/Scola made Bonzi unnecessary. We really needed a backup PG, which BJax is still good at.

Problem was Yao went down after that, leaving us with need for a post-up man. Also, BJax looked way worse than usual when he had to start instead of being an energy guy off the bench.

Healthy Yao and Rafer with BJax off the bench was much better than a Healthy Yao and Rafer with Bonzi off the bench.

Then fate intervened and our hopes got crushed.

Either way, Bonzi is a decent player but he is seriously overated at times around here. He was inconsistent in everythign he did. To show up 1 out every 5 games is just not cutting it. Plus the dude is getting old, I'm glad we don't have to resign a 32+ year old guard who has been bounced all around the league.

Yea i agree with you clos in that the rox didnt know that yao was going to be injured, but i thought it was not all bad as well because even though he suked in the playoffs he could man the point while alston was injured

while bonzi wells is incredibly overrared on this bbs bobby jackson is incredibly underrated.

it was a very good trade at this time and the good thing is it will be again next season. either bobby will be playing valuable backup minutes for us or he'll be used in a trade that will make us better. win-win situation. :)

bonzi on the other hand will look to get paid again this summer. and this time he will go where the money is (and that certainly won't be us).
