Intel cuts electric cords with wireless power system

    In a way, it's not revolutionary...it is something that could've been done in early 20th century and late 19 hundreds.

    The one of the main reason wire was chosen over wireless was money. Companies suppress the idea, like the electric car and a few of the rail systems.

    It sounds weird, but most of the alternative energies that you see are not really new discoveries, most are beyond 45 years old to possibly a 100.

    Transferring power through air has to be more inefficient when compared to metal wires.

    Probably, but why would some entity like Intel pursue this concept and do demonstrations and discuss the possibilities of continuing the research if it weren't at least reasonably efficient? And who's to say they won't find a way to make it more efficient than wires at some point in the future?
