As a general trend, people are complaining that there are too many underclassmen in the NBA draft. I think that having some sort of instructional league could solve that problem. For example, Major League Baseball has minor league teams to instruct the younger ones. Baseball is probably the only other sport where high school players are directly drafted. NFL to a certain extent uses NFL Europe. For higher skilled positions such as QB, NFL Europe and Arena Football have brought up guys like Kurt Warner into the NFL. Say if the Rockets are to draft an underclassman who is not ready. Having the kid languished on the bench is not really a solution. I think NBA teams should start affiliating themselves with CBA teams just so the underclassmen have a place to play. Just curious as to what's your take. ------------------ Louisville Rockets my ass
My take is the NBA already has this. It's called the NBDL - The National Basketball Development League. They require you to be 20 years of age or older. Doc, Thanks for the info... didn't know NBDL existed. So you think guys like Curry, Diop, and Cisse are going to be sent there to develop, or are they going to warm the bench next year? ------------------ Louisville Rockets my ass
No, for one thing, they are not 20... I think it will be more like NFL Europe, Arena Football League or the IBL, mostly big league rejects working to get back up ------------------
Then it does no good to keep those kids on the bench then ------------------ Louisville Rockets my ass
