I think we need to find someone that can be a more consistent scorer off the bench. Right now, Mo Taylor is about as good as it gets. Right now, there is no one when the 2nd team is on the floor that can take over a game. Might starting someone over JJ work so that he can come off the bench to get points? Padgett is too slow to play SF. Boki is...well...Boki is Boki. Ryan Bowen is not a shooter.

I really feel we need a better backup that can play both 2 and 3. Someone that can score points in bunches.

Any ideas of who can be gotten either via trade or by other means?

Edit: I'm not saying that upgrades aren't needed at those positions. I'm just saying that depth will be a problem the later the season goes on. Especially if the Rockets are in the playoffs.

Don't get too excited about our 2 win streak. Things look good when we win, especially when we blowout 2 teams in a roll. Especially considering the teams we played.

I am hoping that our PF and PG have turned around though. cuz they looked good for 2 games in a roll now.

Like I said, I do think PF and PG need to be upgraded. I do think that we can get by with what we got right now. I just think that there needs to be a somewhat consistent scorer to come off the bench. Someone that would help to keep JJ from playing 40 minutes on a regular basis.

If Mo ever gets his outside shot back then he is the option off the bench that can score in bunches. If JVG ever lets Boki back in the rotation i think he too can score off the bench (not sure if that will ever happen though).

Have you forgotten how sad we looked at the PF and PG positions? lol. I hope MO/howard and sura have turned the corner, but if they didn't, they are our trading priorities IMHO.

It was nice to see Mo getting some points. I hope he will get in a groove but he is very inconsistent and Howard isn't doing all that much better himself. We don't have the resources to upgrade ourselves at the 4 or the 1 but it was real great to see Sura doing so well tonight.

Nice game by Mo. Hope this would solidify the chance of us trading him..

I am not really excited about the 2 game win streak, but HOW we won the last two games. We seemed more energetic and looked like we had fun out there. Thats what I gathered from the game. If we would have brought this energy to some other games, our record would look a lot better.

yeah man i'm likin it! FUN :) those alleyoops are really nice..when we score..yes we're happy. :) And that will definitely help our defense..although these teams aren't great..they still are NBA teams..and I think we are trying to improve our offense. Good job to Sura and Mo and everyone else. Tmac scored like 10 in a row which was nice.

Yeah, hell yeah, it feels good. I mean, we dog them when their bad, lets congratulate them when they win. This win was good for us. It might not be against a Defense like the Pistons, but hey, at least our offense is showing some forms of life. Its really encouraging to see them having fun again. Our next goal is to be consistent. All I have to say is - ITS ABOUT TIME!!!! GO ROCKETS:) :) :) :)

whoever thinks we don't need to upgrade our 4 spot is fooling themselves.

we don't need a PG. i agree that upgrading the 3 and putting jj on the bench would make us mutch better.

Agree. Sura and Barrett fill the PG needs. They push the ball upcourt and quicken the pace. We do need better rebounding from the 4. Perhaps Spoon is the short-term answer. I love Mo Taylor, but, sadly, he and Juwon Howard look better suited for coming off the bench. I still think Boki is the most promising 3 available with an aging JJ backing up T-Mac to keep up the firepower when T-Mac rests.

The cure may be in moving Spoon to starting PF so the lineup looks like this:

    Yao - Mutombo
    Spoon - Taylor/Howard
    Nachbar - Padgett / Bowen
    McGrady - Jackson
    Sura - Barrett

Rotate Ward, Lue and Gaines in as needed. Let JVG continue to school Gaines in the art of being a point guard. Otherwise, include him in a trade.
