Don't you think the NBA should have Instant Replay where coaches can contest calls that they think are wrong? This would be similar to the NFL. It might waste a lot of time, but I think some calls are ridiculous. This would mainly benefit the Kings who always complain about the refs during the playoffs against the Lakers. Wuddya think?

Sure why not, the game is already slow as hell.

I wouldn't mind each coaching having the ability to 'dispute' 2 calls per game.

    Isn't possible....

Sometimes, a foul that isn't called is as important as one that is called, like when a player gets hacked, the foul isn't called, then the other team scores on the next possession. You can't stop play while the ball is still in play, and who knows how many possessions will happen before the next dead ball

One of the more important changes came this offseason.

Buzzer shots can now be reviewed.

Like A-Train said, there's too many non-calls and calls alike to be able to chalange a call. The only thing I think may be challengable is whether the ball went out of bounds or shot clock violations.

Of course, if the coach has a button that he can push that buzzes something on the ref, the ref can blow the whistle and it will be like a normal blow of the whistle.

Still, this is hard as it would require the coach to decide whether or not a call was missed on the fly and there would have to be a rule concerning a certain amount of time backwards that can be reviewed (i.e. the call/non-call to be reviewed must be in the last 10 seconds), but it is certainly feasible.

Of course, the real answer to this is to have better refereeing.

So according to your system, that means play will be stopped every 5 seconds when a game is tied with 2 minutes left in the 4th?

The NBA game will then last longer than a baseball game.

Instant replay for the NBA is fine as it is right now. The only ting that should be changed is the NCAA rule, where every close 3-point shot is reviewed to see if the player's foot was on the line. There is a rule that has something to do with 3-point shots for instant replay in the NBA, but it can't be checked for every shot.
