So what are we looking at with the playoffs rapidly approaching? Battier - bruised foot T-Mac - sore shoulder Jackson - foot/ankle/leg? Rafer - hamstring And then there's that foot attached to a certain 7'6" guy. Sucks to have all the injury bugs striking now. It was gonna take a monumental effort to win a first round series against any team with the big fella out. I'm not sure how we're going to fair with Rafer and Shane playing on gimpy wheels, T-Mac shooting 30%, and a brigade of rookies getting their first taste of the playoffs. I like our chances if our guys can get patched up in time, but that's a big if.
Home court advantage against any opponent is just as important as seeding, or getting a particular opponent. Doesn't matter if its Golden State, Denver, Dallas, their chances are slimmer giving their opponent an extra home game. Rockets dont have cushion to pair against certain opponents
What difference does it make in this years west? Not a huge difference between playing the Jazz, Suns, and Mavs. Besides, no, positioning is not the same as fighting to stay alive in April/May.
Watching the game last night it was clear the team wasn't in it. Maybe Adelman realized after the Phoenix game that we weren't beating that team in 7, so we're putting ourselves back in position to play the Jazz. I wouldn't do it but that's just me.
You are right. I don't wanna be 3rd and face Suns in the forst round, even with home court adventage. We better finish 5th and have Utah at the start. But playing Utah we have to have HCA especially with them struggling on the road this season.
These are nagging injuries that players from every team have at this time of the year (well except for Yao's injury). It's a grueling season, and everyone has some scrapes and bruises by the end. We'll be fine.
At this point, with the way Shaq is playing, I'd rather play the Jazz. The Suns scare me a ton right now.
They do look like naggin injuries. I don't know about playing Pheonix, besides Shaq everyone on their team has the green light against our defenders. The only thing that worked last game was the pick and roll. And how often can you expect Steve nash to score only 6 points. They have more playoff experience than the Jazz and a better play maker in Nash.
does anyone know the status of injuries for today? The chronicle's Rocket's page lists the starters as: Battier, McGrady, Alston, Scola, and Head. http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets/ I don't know if that's accurate or not - does anyone? I guess Adleman doesn't want Deke in the game much? Personally, I think I'd put Deke on Boozer - otherwise I guess Battier will guard Boozer tonight? Anyway - if that starting lineup is accurate I guess Rafer and Battier's nagging injuries are gone for tonight.
