I've noticed that Howard in the past couple of games has taken it upon himself to be the near super star player he was once in his career. He has consistently scored in the mid 20's and 30's. It seems that he is now looking for his shots more than he was before.

With Yao and McGrady the Rockets have two superstars that can lead the Rockets into the Playoffs, even with the bad start to the season. But, if Howard can maintain his level of play once Yao and Swift come back, then a deep playoff run can be in order. (Champaigne anyone :D )

Howard maintaining his level of play for the rest of the season if very important. If not the injuries would have been for NOT!!! He just simply can't go back to the player who average 9 points and 6 rebounds after the way he has played.

Shooting close to 50% and getting 24 to 30 points a game conistently. That is just amazing. The third super star has been here all along. He just has to realize it himself.

I don't think you can say Juwan Howard is a super star. Dude been on horrible teams his whole NBA career and thats why his stats look good.

The guy needs alot of touches to get his points and I don't see it when Yao comes back, he is a finesse scoring PF when we need really a bruiser to play along Yao and he just could not be that type.

I agree Howard has been playing well and stepping up. And hopefully when everyone comes back, he as well as the rest of the guys can continue to play this well. So then we'll be good :p

I disagree. I think Juwan has definitely stepped up his game, and teams are starting to double him now because of his scoring efficiency. When Yao returns and starts drawing double teams, Juwan is going to get many more open looks and he could actually get better/much more efficient.

I hope you're right, but that guy seems to be a rythm player, waiting around the wing for an open J when Yao gets doubleteamed has not been a consistently successful play.

who the hell wants to double juwan? if they double that dude with the dinosaur sounding name, they can beat the rockets.
is juwan on your fantasy team?
To me, stepping up is helping to WIN GAMES.
I dont care if juwan gets 20pts and pounds double quarter pounders with cheese when samatha wanted heor duers, I want to WIN GAMES.
so far, Juwan ranks low on the rockets PF history. I'm loving his effort, but he's still a chicken nugget.

Hello Mr. Juwan Hater. Didn't take you long to show up, did it? Just do us a favor and change your username to "I_hate_Juwan_Howard". Would save you a lot of wasted typing.

The biggest problem for me .. is worry
I worry that once Yao and T-mac are back full time
    that
they will return to being shrinking violets

I'm hoping Yao's injury has forced JH to finally find his groove. Hopefully he returns to what he was late last season before the knee injury.

Granted he has been on bad teams, but he still has to play NBA calliber opponents. That doesn't account for anything? He was the star for those bad teams right? That would mean he was the target of the opposing defenses correct? Doesn't that account for anything?

    Dude,
trying watching some NBA basketball. He's NOT getting 30pts consistently, that was one game. If you are so excited about Juwan, why dont you watch some of these other dudes.

    Kevin Garnett
    Rasheed Wallace
    Tim Duncan
    Dirk Nowitski
    Elton Brand
    Pau Gasol
    Kenyon Martin

You've previously said that Carl Herrera was a better PF and Juwan. And now you posted Herrara's picture implying the same thing.

I liked Herrera but if you would do a straight-up trade of Howard for Herrera, then you may be the President of the "I Hate Juwan" fan club.

are you ready for me to drop you tmac dunk?
    here we go...

tell me a game where Juwan helped win us a championship or even a meaningful playoff game.. or EVEN A PLAYOFF GAME!!!

this guy was scoring on Patrick Ewing, Anthony Mason, Charles Smith, the New York Knicks and Pat Riley Defense. He's AMIGO, what's Juwan?

The Rockets then became only the sixth of the 21 teams involved in best-of-seven Finals that have been tied at two games apiece to lose Game 5 but bounce back to win Games 6 and 7 and reign as NBA champions.

Houston took Game 6, 86-84, as Olajuwon scored 30 points. Reserve forward Carl Herrera shot 6-for-6 from the floor, and Kenny Smith nailed a gutsy three-pointer with 3:18 left and the Knicks chipping away at Houston's lead. Smith's basket gave the Rockets a seven-point lead and just enough of a margin to survive, although they needed Olajuwon's fourth blocked shot of the game -- a magnificent, come-from-nowhere leaping tip of Starks's attempted three-pointer in the closing seconds -- to hold on. Starks had already scored 16 of his team-high 27 points in the fourth-quarter comeback.

Olajuwon again came up big in Game 7, as did guard Vernon Maxwell, who had his best game of the series with 21 points. The game was close throughout. The Rockets held a narrow lead most of the way, and the outcome was not decided until Olajuwon nailed a 6-foot hook and Maxwell canned a three-pointer with 1:48 left, giving the Rockets an 83-75 lead and putting the game and the champagne on ice.

"I don't have the words to explain and describe what it feels like," said Tomjanovich, a member of the Rockets organization as a player, scout, assistant coach, and head coach for all 24 years since he left Michigan as an All-America forward in 1970. "It's almost like being in a dream. Right now I'm the proudest guy in the world."

At last, the Houston Rockets, a team yearning for recognition after years as a good but not quite good enough contender (including two previous losing appearances in the Finals in 1981 and 1986), stood atop the basketball world.

"If we don't get it (respect) now, something's wrong," said power forward Otis Thorpe. "Right now we're the world champs and we're the best team around. We feel proud of that, the city feels proud of that, and we're going to live up to it, too."

Like I said before, this guy's mom was feeding him haterade instead of milk when he was born.

You should just go ahead and construct a shrine to Herrera in your backyard man, and I believe www.ihatejuwanhoward.com is still available at GoDaddy!
